Dirt and stains will cause ver tical lines on transmitted images and copies.

Maintenance 94 Cleaning the drum car tridge If you find that characters or parts of an image are missing from y our pr inted pages, the drum in the dr um car trid ge may need cleaning. Follow the steps below to clean the drum. 1 Grasp the print compartment cover at both sides as shown, and pull up to open the cover .
Maintenance 95 8. Maintenance 4 T ake a sheet of clean paper and roll it into a tube . Roll it tightly so that the diameter of the holes at each end is less than the thickness of y our little finger . 5 Gently wipe the surface of the drum with the rolled-up paper to remove any particles of toner caked on th e drum.
