8 Enjoying the camera Enjoying high definition images The movies shot with this camera will be recorded in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Main Profile, approximately 30 frames per second, Progressiv e, AAC LC, “MP4 fo rmat”.
9 Flow of use * You can upload and save imag es by using th e suppl ied software “PMB (Picture Motion Browser) ”. You can also use the software “PMB P ortable” embedded within the came ra to uplo ad images outside home. For details on how to use the software, refer to the Help m enu of the software.

11 1 Charging the built-in battery • The battery is bui lt in within the cam era. 1 Connect the AC Adaptor to the D C IN jack of the camera, making sure the power is off. 2 Plug the power cord (mains lead) to a wall ou tlet (wall socket). The CHG lamp lig hts on, and chargi ng starts.
12 2 Inserting “Memory Stick PRO Duo” media (sold separately) 1 Open the “Memory Stick Duo” media cover. 2 Insert the “Memory Stick PRO Duo” media (sold separately) all the way in until it clicks. 3 Close the “Memory Stick Duo ” media cover.
13 3 Turning the camera on/settin g the clock 1 Open the LCD pan el to turn the po wer on. Open the LCD panel up to a 90 d egrees angle from the camera ( 1 ), then rotate i t to the desired angle ( 2 ). You can also turn the power on b y pressing ON/OFF button.
14 Shooting images easily 1 Open the LCD panel to turn the power on. You can also turn the power on by pressing ON/OFF. 2 Confirm the composition. 3 Start shooting. When shooting still images: 1 Press and hold PHOTO halfway do wn to focus. When the focus is set on the subject, the AF ran g e finder frame (green) appears.
15 2 Press PHO T O fully down. • Black bands appear on the top a nd bottom of the image when the imag e size is either [1080 30 P] or [720 30P]. • You cannot shoot still im ages while shoo ting movies. • When shooting still images, the angl e of view will ch ange from that in sho oting standby.
16 Useful functions for shoo ting [ W/T Using the zoom Slide the zoom lever toward T to z oom in, slide the zoom lever to ward W to zoom ou t. You can use the Digita l Zoom fun ction by selecting [Digital Zo om] in (Camera). When the zoom scale exceeds 5 × , the camera uses the Digital Zoom function.
17 [ Selecting the image si ze Press (Image size) button to select (Photo Size) or (Mo vie Size) with b / B on the control button, then select the desired image size with v / V .
18 Viewing/Editing images 1 Open the LCD panel to turn the power on. You can also turn the power on by pressing ON/OFF. 2 Press (Play) button to set the camera to play back mode. Index screen appear s. 3 Select the image you want to play back with v / V / b / B on the control bu tton.
19 3 Select the images you want to dele te with v / V / b / B , then press z to display the (Delete) indicator on t he selected image. 4 Press (Delete). 5 Select [OK] with B , then press z . • T o delete all the ima ges in the fold er , select [A ll In This Folder] wit h v / V in step 2 instead of [Select], then pres s z .
20 Connecting to a non-high-definiti on 16:9 (wide) or 4:3 TV Images recorded with HD (high definition) qual ity is converted t o SD (standard definition) and played back. Images recorded with SD (standard definitio n) image quality are played back with SD (standard defi nition) image quality.
21 Changing the settings – Menu/Setup 1 Press MENU to display the men u. 2 Select the desired menu item with b / B on the control butto n. • In REC mode, / is indicated. You cannot set an item with / indicator in gray. • In PLAY mode, press z after sett ing an item.

26 Using your Macinto sh computer You can copy images to your Macintosh computer. • “PMB” is not compatible with M acintosh computers. Recommended computer environment The following environment is recommended for a comp uter connected to the camera.

29 Battery life and memory capacity Battery life and the availab le recording and playback time The tables show the approximate time (min.) that the imag es can be recorded/ played back with the bu ilt-in battery at full capacity and at an ambi ent temperature of 25°C (77°F).
30 Number of st ill images and recording time of movies The number of still images and the length of time for movies may vary depending on the shooting conditions.
31 Troubleshooting If you experience trouble with your camera, try the following solutions. 1 Check the items below, and refer to “Mobile HD Snap Camera Handbook” (P DF). 2 Turn the powe r off, and turn it on again after about one minute. 3 Press the RESET button using a fine-tipped object, and turn on th e power.
32 Your camera cannot playback images. • Press (Play) button to change to the playback m ode (page 18 ). • The folder /file name h as been chan ged on your computer .
33 10 Re-install the US B driver by takin g the following steps. 1 Double-cl ick [My Comput er]. 2 Right-click [SONYPICTUTIL(E:)](disk drive)*. * The driver letter ( such as (E:)) may differ depending on the computer you are using. 3 Click [Ope n], doubl e-click [US B Driver] and then double -click [setup.
