Setting up - 5 S ETTING UP Unp acking your smartphone Your new smartphone comes packed in a prote ctive box. Carefully unpack the box and remove the contents.

Using your sm artphone - 1 3 Onscreen keyboards Google keyboard This is a standard onscreen QWERTY keyboard that allows you to enter text. Tap and hold a key with numbers at the top to select alternative characters, such as letters with accents.
14 - Using your smartphone Predictive text Google keyboard provides predictive text input for the browser. As you tap the letters of a word, a selection of words are displayed above the keyboard that continue the sequence of letters tappe d, or are a close match allowing for errors.

Making calls - 27 Answering or declining a call When you have an in coming call, the nu mber will be shown on the screen. To accept or decline the call, tap the appropriate icon and slide your finger across the screen. To decline the call with a text message, tap the icon and select a message.

To make an internet call, from the Application menu t ap People . Tap on the contact to open their profile, and then tap o n their internet calling address to place the call.
Messag ing - 31 M ESSAGING This chapter shows you how to set up and use the Phone messages , Social messages and Social events fu nctions of your smartphone. All SMS and MMS messages are accessed via Messaging . Messaging automatica lly arranges received an d sent messages into threads.
