If you have followed all of the procedures below and still need assistance, refer to the ‘T echnical Support Procedures’ and/or ‘Returning Merchandise for Service’ section(s) in this chapter .

Refer to the Appendix 2. for details on beep codes. Losing the System’ s Setup Con fi guration Make sure that you are using a high quality power supply .
3-3 Chapter 3: T roubleshooting Please follow the instructions given in the DIMM Population T ables listed in 7. Section 2-4 to install your memory modules. 3-2 T echnical Support Procedures Before contacting T echnical Support, please take the following steps.

Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-1 Chapter 4 BIOS 4-1 Introduction This chapter describes the AMI BIOS Setup Utility for the X8DAH+/X8DAH+-F . The AMI ROM BIOS is stored in a Flash EEPROM and can be easily updated. This chap- ter describes the basic navigation of the AMI BIOS Setup Utility setup screens.
4-2 X8DAH+/X8DAH+-F User ’s Manual Starting the Setup Utility Normally , the only visible Power-On Self-T est (POST) routine is the memory test. As the memory is being tested, press the <Delete> key to enter the main menu of the AMI BIOS Setup Utility .
Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-3 SuperMicro X8DAH V ersion • : This item displays the BIOS revision used in your system. Build Date • : This item displays the date when this BIOS was completed.
4-4 X8DAH+/X8DAH+-F User ’s Manual 4-3 Advanced Setup Con fi gurations Use the arrow keys to select Advanced Setup and press <Enter> to access the submenu items. Boot Features Quick Boot If Enabled, this option will skip certain tests during POST to reduce the time needed for system boot.

4-6 X8DAH+/X8DAH+-F User ’s Manual Processor and Clock Options This submenu allows the user to con fi gure the Processor and Clock settings. Clock Spread Spectrum Select Enable to use Clock Spectrum, which will allow BIOS to monitor and attempt to reduce the level of Electromagnetic Interference caused by the components whenever needed.
Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-7 Execute-Disable Bit Capability (A vailable when supported by the OS and the CPU) Set to Enabled to support Execute Disable Bit which will allow the processor to designate areas.
4-8 X8DAH+/X8DAH+-F User ’s Manual C-State package limit setting (A vailable when Intel® C-State T ech is enabled) If set to Auto, the AMI BIOS will automatically set the limit on the C-State package register . The options are Auto , C1, C3, C6 and C7.
Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-9 Memory Frequency This feature allows the user to force DDR3 memory to run at a frequency different from what is speci fi ed. The available options are Auto , Force DDR-800, Force DDR-1066, Force DDR-1333, and SPD. Memory Mode The options are Independent , Channel Mirror, and Lockstep.
4-10 X8DAH+/X8DAH+-F User ’s Manual DCA (Direct Cache Access) T echnology (Available when Intel I/O A T is enabled) This feature works in conjunction with the Intel I/O A T (Acceleration T echnology) to accelerate the performance of a T OE device.
Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-1 1 Port 64h/60h Emulation Select Enabled to enable Port 64h/60h emulation for complete USB keyboard sup- port for operating systems that are not compatible with USB devices.
4-12 X8DAH+/X8DAH+-F User ’s Manual Con fi gure SA T A#1 as This feature is used to select the drive type for SA T A#1. Select RAID (Intel) to enable Intel's SA T A RAID fi rmware and con fi gure SA T A#1 as an Intel's SA T A RAID device.
Chapter 4: AMI BIOS 4-13 PIO Mode The IDE PIO (Programmable I/O) Mode programs timing cycles between the IDE drive and the programmable IDE controller . As the PIO mode increases, the cycle time decreases. The options are Auto , 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Select Auto to allow the AMI BIOS to automatically detect the PIO mode.
