1 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 1 Introduction This manual provides information on how to safely operate your G8000 Series Uninterruptible Power System (UPS). This manual includes a section of general safety instructions that describes the warning labels and symbols that are used throughout the manual.

6 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 4.3 T ransporting/Unpacking W ARNING When transporting the UPS by crane, follow the SPECIFIED WORK PROCEDURE. The suspension wire angle should be less than 60°. The UPS falling or overturning may cause crushing, trapping or other personal injuries.
7 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual CAUTION DO NOT transport, move, store, or place the UPS on its side. Forces due to heavy components inside may damage the UPS. A void vibration or shock exceeding 0.5G. Failing to observe this precaution may cause damage to the UPS.
8 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 4.4 Inspection/Storage Inspection Upon receipt of the UPS, an inspection for shipping damage should be performed. Use caution when removing the unit from the pallet. Refer to labels or documentation attached to packing material.
9 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual CAUTION Install the UPS in a controlled environment. Improper storage and installation environment may deteriorate insulation, shorten component life and cause malfunctions. See T able 5.1 - UPS Installation Environment Standards DO NOT tilt the UPS more than 10° from upright position.
10 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual DO NOT block air vents. Blocking the vents will increase the internal temperatures and may result in UPS failure or re. DO NOT install the UPS where water may fall on it. W ater may cause electrical shock, personal injury or UPS failure.

13 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 5.1 Wiring/Connection W ARNING Perform wiring and connections with correct polarity . Be careful when connecting the UPS to the battery system. A wrong connection may cause damage to the UPS, battery , or charger .

19 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 8 T ransporting The UPS may be packed in a crate for extra protection during transportation. Avoid impact or vibration against the UPS during transportation. DO NOT expose the UPS directly to water . W ARNING When transporting the UPS by crane, follow the SPECIFIED WORK PROCEDURE.
20 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 8.1 T ransporting By Crane Cables should have sufcient ratings and be of the same length. Make sure the suspension cables are hooked at eyebolts. See Figure 8.1. Keep the angle less than 60° between cables.
21 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 8.2 T ransporting By Forklift Refer to Chapter 7 - Weight and Dimensions. V erify forklift maximum load capacity and ensure that the forks are long enough to properly support the UPS. Insert the forks into the space shown in Figure 8.

23 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual W ARNING While operating in the inverter mode, placing the input breaker in the “OFF” position will switch the UPS to the battery backup mode. The output of the UPS will continue uninterrupted to the load.
24 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 9.2 Maintenance Precautions All internal maintenance sould be performed by factory authorized personnel. 1) T urn off, lockout, and tagout ALL power sources before connecting the power wiring to the equipment or when performing maintenance.
25 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual CAUTION DO NOT dispose of the batteries in a re. The batteries may explode. DO NOT open or mutilate the batteries. Released electrolyte is harmful to the eyes and skin and could also be toxic. DANGER A battery can present a risk of electrical shock and high short circuit current.
26 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 10 Installation W ARNING Keep the SPECIFIED CLEARANCE around the UPS. Inadequate space around the UPS makes it difcult to perform maintenance/inspections, lead to insufcient ventilation, and/or will cause malfunctions.
27 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 10.1 Unpacking Unpack the UPS indoors on a paved oor . The UPS should be as close as possible to its nal storage location. Overhead traveling cranes should be used to unpack any G8000 Series UPS.

34 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 1 1.3 UPS Power Cable Knockout Plates Cable knockout plates are provided at the bottom of the 100 kV A UPS, and at the top and bottom of the 150/225 kV A UPS. (Older models of the G8000 150/225 kV A UPS do not come equipped with an upper knockout plate.
35 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual Figure 1 1.9 shows the four (4) cable knockout plates provided at the top of the 300 kV A UPS. Seven (7) holes must be punched during installation. The dashed rectangle indicates the UPS opening behind the knockout plates.
36 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 1 1.4 External Breakers The G8000 UPS units are not equipped with circuit breakers. Qualied personnel should provide the external breakers for the AC input/output, bypass input and DC input. See Figure 1 1.

41 G8000 Series Installation and Operation Manual 1 1.7.2 Grounding Conguration (without input neutral) When the input source is wye-connected, the neutral line out to the bypass input should be left open. The UPS is grounded by connecting the neutral terminal to the ground bus with the internal jumper cable.

A TTENTION Press an operating button for at least 0.5 seconds to change UPS modes. Press the reset button for at least 5 seconds to reset the UPS.

Een belangrijk punt na aankoop van elk apparaat Toshiba 300 KW (of zelfs voordat je het koopt) is om de handleiding te lezen. Dit moeten wij doen vanwege een paar simpele redenen:
Als u nog geen Toshiba 300 KW heb gekocht dan nu is een goed moment om kennis te maken met de basisgegevens van het product. Eerst kijk dan naar de eerste pagina\'s van de handleiding, die je hierboven vindt. Je moet daar de belangrijkste technische gegevens Toshiba 300 KW vinden. Op dit manier kan je controleren of het apparaat aan jouw behoeften voldoet. Op de volgende pagina's van de handleiding Toshiba 300 KW leer je over alle kenmerken van het product en krijg je informatie over de werking. De informatie die je over Toshiba 300 KW krijgt, zal je zeker helpen om een besluit over de aankoop te nemen.
In een situatie waarin je al een beziter van Toshiba 300 KW bent, maar toch heb je de instructies niet gelezen, moet je het doen voor de hierboven beschreven redenen. Je zult dan weten of je goed de alle beschikbare functies heb gebruikt, en of je fouten heb gemaakt die het leven van de Toshiba 300 KW kunnen verkorten.
Maar de belangrijkste taak van de handleiding is om de gebruiker bij het oplossen van problemen te helpen met Toshiba 300 KW . Bijna altijd, zal je daar het vinden Troubleshooting met de meest voorkomende storingen en defecten #MANUAl# samen met de instructies over hun opplosinge. Zelfs als je zelf niet kan om het probleem op te lossen, zal de instructie je de weg wijzen naar verdere andere procedure, bijv. door contact met de klantenservice of het dichtstbijzijnde servicecentrum.
