5 Make sure you have the following tools: • T wo adjustable wrenches • One standard screwdriver • One phillips screwdriver • One rubber mallet • Y ou will also need grease or petroleum jelly , and a small amount of soapy water .
6 1 1 High Side of Bracket Holes 2 9 2 65 66 73 55 55 3 55 83 83 Hole 73 83 66 28 1 2 83 5 3 2. Slide the Rear Upright (5) onto the 5/16” x 2 3/4” Carriage Bolts (66) in the Stabilizer (1). The high side of the bracket on the Rear Upright must be on the side shown.
7 5. Press two 2” Square Inner Caps (55) into the ends of the T op Frame (10). Press a 1 3/4” Square Inner Cap (56) into each end of the cross- bar on the T op Frame.
8 6. Attach the upper ends of the Weight Guides (9) to the T op Frame (10) with the 5/16” x 6” Bolt (91), two 1/2” x 3/4” Spacers (39), and a 5/16” Nylon Locknut (83). See the inset drawing. Be sure that the Pulley Bracket (51) is in front of the right W eight Guide (9).
9 10. Lubricate both axles on the T op Frame (10). Slide the Right Arm (12) onto the right axle on the T op Frame (10). Note: Be careful not to con- fuse the Right Arm with the Left Arm (1 1); refer to step 9 to identify the Right Arm. Be sure that the upper end of the Right Arm is behind the indicated bracket on the T op Frame.
10 16 15 15. During steps 15 through 27, refer to the CABLE DIAGRAM on page 21 to verify proper cable rout- ing. IMPORT ANT : While assembling the cables, do not overtighten the bolts and nuts securing the pulleys. The pulleys must be able to turn freely .
11 20. Attach a 3 1/2” Pulley (45) and a Cable T rap (44) to the indicated hole in the Long “U”-Bracket (50) with a 3/8” x 2” Bolt (74) and a 3/8” Nylon Locknut (84). Be sure that the Cable T rap is inside the “U”-Bracket. Note: This may come pre-assembled.

Attach the Pulley and a Cable T rap (44) to the bracket on the T op Frame (10) with a 3/8” x 2” Bolt (74) and the 3/8” Nylon Locknut (84).
13 26. Wrap the Short Cable (42) around a 3 1/2” Pulley (45). Attach the Pulley and a Cable T rap (44) to the upper hole in the Front Upright (4) with a 3/8” x 3 3/4” Bolt (70), a 3/8” W asher (86), and a 3/8” Nylon Jamnut (92).
14 28. Attach the Backrest (21) to the Front Upright (4) with two 1/4” x 2 1/2” Screws (72) and two 1/4” W ashers (81). 29. Press a 1 1/2” Square Inner Cap (57) into the Seat Frame (15). Insert the 1/4” x 2” Carriage Bolt (68) into the center hole in the Seat Plate (19).
15 32. Press four 3/4” Round Inner Caps (54) into the ends of the two Pad T ubes (17). Insert one Pad T ube (17) into the Seat Frame (15). Slide a 5 1/2” Pad (18) onto each end of the Pad T ube. Insert the other Pad T ube (17) into the Leg Lever (16).
16 31 32 34 35. Make sure that all parts have been properly tightened. The use of the remaining parts will be explained in ADJUSTMENTS, beginning on the following page. Before using the weight system, pull each cable a few times to be sure that the cables move smoothly over the pulleys.
17 ADJUSTMENTS The instructions below describe how each part of the weight system can be adjusted. Refer to the exercise guide accompanying this manual to see how the weight system should be set up for each exercise.
18 A TT ACHING THE LEG LEVER TO THE LOW PULLEY ST A TION T o use the Leg Lever (16), the seat must be attached to the front upright (see A TT ACHING AND REMOV- ING THE SEA T , on page 17). Attach the Short Cable (42) to the 3/8” x 2” Eyebolt (64) with the Chain (37) and two Cable Clips (38).

TROUBLE-SHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE Inspect and tighten all parts each time you use the weight system. Replace any worn parts immediately . The weight system can be cleaned using a damp cloth and mild non-abrasive detergent.
21 CABLE DIAGRAM The cable diagram below shows the proper routing of the Short Cable (42) and the Long Cable (41). Use the diagram to be sure that the two cables and the cable traps have been assembled correctly . If the cables have not been correctly routed, the weight system will not function properly and damage may occur .
22 EXERCISE GUIDELINES THE FOUR BASIC TYPES OF WORKOUTS Muscle Building T o increase the size and strength of your muscles, push them close to their maximum capacity . Y our mus- cles will continually adapt and grow as you progres- sively increase the intensity of your exercise.
23 Rest for a short period of time after each set. The ideal resting periods are: • Rest for three minutes after each set for a muscle building workout. • Rest for one minute after each set for a toning work- out. • Rest for 30 seconds after each set for a weight loss workout.
