5 BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the WESLO ® CADENCE DX10 treadmill. The CADENCE DX10 combines advanced technology with innovative design to let you enjoy an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise in the conve- nience and privacy of your home.
6 1. Note that the right Handrail and the Console Base (not shown) are connected to the treadmill by a Wire Harness. During assembly steps 1 through 5, be careful not to pull on or damage the Wire Harness. With the help of a second person, carefully lay the treadmill on its side.
4. Thread a 1/4” x 1” Bolt (23) with a 1/4” W asher (22) two turns into the upper end of the right Upright (31) and the right Handrail (32). Do not tighten the Bolt yet. Thread a 1/4” x 1” Bolt (23) with a 1/4” W asher (22) two turns into the lower end of the right Handrail (32) and the right Upright (31).
8 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE TM W ALKING BEL T Y our treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE TM , a high-performance lubricant. IMPORT ANT : Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking plat- form.
9 Clip Pulse Sensor Key Speed Control Displays DIAGRAM OF THE CONSOLE On/Reset Button BA TTERY INST ALLA TION The console requires three "AA" batteries (not includ- ed); alkaline batteries are recommended. Open the battery cover and press the batteries into the console; the negative (–) ends of the batteries must touch the springs.
10 Reset the console and start the walking belt. Slide the speed control to the RESET position. Note: Each time the walking belt is stopped, the speed control must be moved to the RESET position before the walking belt can be restarted. Next, slowly slide the speed control until the walk- ing belt begins to move at slow speed.
11 HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, unplug the power cord. Caution: Y ou must be able to safely lift 45 pounds in order to raise, lower or move the treadmill. 1. Hold the treadmill with your hands in the locations shown at the right.
12 2. Move your right hand to the position shown at the right, and hold the treadmill firmly . Raise the treadmill until the storage latch locks over the frame guide. Make sure that the storage latch closes fully over the frame guide. T o protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the treadmill.
13 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLE-SHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below . Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. 14 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt has shifted to the left , first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD . Using the allen wrench, turn the left rear roller adjust- ment bolt clockwise, and the right bolt counterclock- wise, 1/4 of a turn each.
15 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program. Remember—these are general guidelines only . For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physi- cian.
16 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown in the drawings below . Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. T oe T ouch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
