11 Using the ceramic glass cooktop (Models RF386PXG and RF388LXG) Cooking on the ceramic glass cooktop is similar to cooking on coil elements. There are, however , a few differ ences: • The surface cooking area will glow r ed when the element is turned on.

15 1. Press CLOCK. 2. Set the time. Press the “up” ( s ) or “down” ( t ) pad(s) until the correct time shows on the display . 3. Start the clock.
3. Start the minute timer . The minute timer will begin counting down immediately after the timer is started. When the time is up: Y ou will hear four 1-second tones, then four 1-second reminder tones every minute until you press TIMER OFF. NOTE: T o display the time of day while the minute timer is counting down, press CLOCK.
17 Y our oven is designed with the ACCUBAKE ® temperature management system to constantly monitor oven temperature. The bake element will cycle, as needed, to maintain the desired temperature. This featur e is automatically activated when the oven is in operation.
18 OFF CANCEL (time of day) 6. When baking, put your food in the oven after the preheat conditioning time ends. During baking/roasting, the elements will turn on and off to keep the oven temperatur e at the setting. NOTE: The top element helps heat during bak- ing/roasting, but does not turn red.
Although your new oven is properly adjusted to provide accurate temperatur es, it may cook faster or slower than your old oven. If you are not satisfied with the baking/r oasting results, you can change the of fset temperature by following the steps below .
NOTES: • Do not preheat when br oiling, unless your recipe recommends it. • Leave the door partly open whenever you use the oven to broil. This lets the oven stay at the proper temperatur es. 1. Place the rack where you need it. Y ou need to place the rack so that the surface of the food is at least 3 inches away from the broil element.
4. Press CUSTOM BROIL. 5. Start oven. Y ou can change the temperature setting any time after pressing ST ART/ENTER. T o change the setting, see “T o custom broil at a lower temperature” below . After changing the setting, you do not have to press ST ART/ENTER again.
22 USING YOUR RANGE B ROILING ( CONT . ) Recommended rack positions are number ed from the bottom (1) to the top (5). For best results, place food 3 inches or more fr om the broil element.

24 USING YOUR RANGE Use the storage drawer to store cookwar e. Y ou can remove the drawer to make it easier to clean under the range. Removing the storage drawer: 1. Empty the drawer before you r emove it. Pull the drawer straight out to the first stop.
25 U SING THE S ELF -C LEANING C YCLE w W ARNING Burn Hazard Do not touch the oven during the Self-Cleaning cycle. Keep children away from oven during Self-Cleaning cycle. Do not use commercial oven cleaners in your oven. Failure to follow these instructions can result in burns, or illness from inhaling dangerous fumes.
NOTE: Make sure the clock is set to the corr ect time of day . (See “Setting the clock” in the “Using Y our Range” section.) 1. Press AUTO CLEAN. This will automatically set a 3 1 ⁄ 2 -hour Self-Cleaning cycle. NOTE: There will be a 30-minute cool-down 1 ⁄ 2 hour before the cycle is over .
T o stop the self-cleaning cycle at any time: If the oven temperature is above normal br oiling temperatures, the Self-Cleaning cycle will start a 30-minute cool down. The clean and door locked indicator lights will stay on. 27 S ETTING THE CONTROLS ( CONT .

34 CARING FOR YOUR RANGE T o remove: 1. Open the oven door . Insert door removal pins, included with your range, into both hinge hangers. Do not remove the pins while the door is removed fr om the range. R EMOVING THE O VEN DOOR For normal use of your range, you do not need to remove the door .
35 CARING FOR YOUR RANGE T HE OVEN LIGHT The oven light will come on when you open the oven door . T o turn the light on or off when the oven door is closed: • Press the oven light pad. T o replace the oven light: 1. Unplug range or disconnect power .
