ZyAIR B-420 Wireless LAN Ethernet Ada pter and Bridge 4-4 Wireless LAN 4.3.1 Dat a Encr yption WEP provides a mechanism for encrypting data using encryption keys. The valu es for the keys must be set up exactly the same on t he APs or ot her pee r ad-hoc wi reless computers as they ar e on the ZyAIR to encrypt and decrypt data.
ZyAIR B-420 Wireless LAN Ethernet Ada pter and Bridge Wireless LAN 4-5 must then use the AP’s default WEP key to en crypt the challenge text an d return it to the AP, which attempts to decrypt the message using the AP’s default WEP key. If the decrypted message matches the challenge tex t, the wireless station is authenticated .
ZyAIR B-420 Wireless LAN Ethernet Ada pter and Bridge 4-6 Wireless LAN Roaming In an infrastructure network, wireless stations are ab le to switch from one AP to another as they move between the c overage areas. During t his period, the wire less stations maintain uninterrupted connections to the network.
