1.1 Gas Safety (Installation and Use) R egulations, October 1994 all gas appliances must be installed by a competent per son in accor dance with the above r egulations. Failure t o install appliances correctly could lead t o prosecution. 1.2 The manufactur ers notes must not be t aken, in an y wa y , as ov erriding statut ory obligations.

4.1 The appliance ma y be installed in any r oom although particular attention is dra wn to the r equirements of the current IEE Wiring R egulations BS 7671 and, in Scotland, the electrical pro visions of the Building R egulations applicable in Scotland, with respect t o the installation of appliances in rooms cont aining baths or shower s.
See Fig. 3. 5.1 The flue must be installed as specified in BS 5440:P art 1. 5.2 The terminal must not cause an obstruction nor the dischar ge cause a nuisance.

9.1 The following are gener al requir ements and, if necessary , refer ence should be made to the local W ater Company befor e fitting the appliance. 9.2 MAINS COLD W A TER INLET . De vices capable of pre venting the flow of expansion water must not be fitted unless separate arr angements ha ve been made.
10.1 MAINS SUPPL Y . 230 V ~, 50 Hz, 180 watts. External Fuse: 3A. Internal Fuses: 2A T HRC(F1), and 1.AF (F2). 10.2 It must be possible to completely isolate the appliance.

T echnical Helpline. The appliance is only suitable f or fitting to a sealed sy stem. 11.1 FLUE OPTIONS. The standar d flue length is from 127mm to 350mm measured from the appliance casing t o the outer wall.
Connect the gas, water and pr essure r elief valve connections t o the appliance. The primary system should be flushed and treated in accor dance with the recommendations of BS7593:1992.
2. If L is within the range 127mm t o 350mm then the flue can be telescopically adjusted to the corr ect length ( L +184mm for side flues or L +18 1mm for r ear flues). The ducts are then fixed by drilling a pilot hole thr ough the hole in the air duct and screwing the self tapping scr ew provided int o the two ducts (See Fig.
11.5 INTERNAL FITTING OF THE DUCT ASSEMBL Y The rubber sealing gasket and the clamping ring ar e available fr om W or cester Heat Systems. Measur e and cut the ducts as pre viously described for external fitting (Section 1 1.4). Fix the ducts to the terminal and fit the rubber sealing gasket and clamp t o the terminal.
11.7 VER TICAL AD APTER Measur e and fit the flue as in Section 1 1.6 Flue bends except the fir st section length is measured fr om the case top and the ducts are cut t o X – 168mm. The minimum length for X is 190mm. See Fig. 22. 11.8 FINAL INST ALLA TION Check that all the w ater and gas connections hav e been tightened.
12.1 SUMMAR Y The appliance is dispatched with the contr ols set to pro vide a maximum output for domestic hot w ater and central heating of 23.4 kW (80,000 Btu/h). The appliance automatically modulates to satisfy low er heat loads. Domestic Hot W ater and Central Heating Sy stems.
12.3 PROGRAMMER Any pr ogrammer fitted on the appliance should be set up at this stage f ollowing the instructions sent with the progr ammer . 12.4 APPLIANCE OPERA TION T urn off the gas and electricity supplies to the appliance. Undo the two scr ews and hinge down the f acia.
13.1 T ell the user how to oper ate the appliance and hand ov er the User s Instructions leaflet. 13.2 T ell the user what to do if the heating system is not t o be used in frosty w eather . 13.3 T ell the user the sealed system set pr essure. 13.4 T ell the user of the importance of r egular servicing.
14.3 DISMANTLE THE APPLIANCE T o carry out a full and comprehensiv e service of the appliance remo ve the f ollowing parts to gain access to the components which need to be check ed or serviced. (a) Cabinet Front P anel. R emove b y lifting off the supports.
15.1 IMPOR T ANT Switch off the electricity and gas supplies bef ore replacing an y components. After the replacement of an y components, check for gas soundness wher e rele vant and carry out functional checks as described in Section 12 - Commissioning 15.
6. Combustion Chamber Insulation. Check that the electricity supply to the appliance is turned off. Drain the centr al heating cir cuit as described in Section 15.3(a). R emov e the inner casing cover , f an, flue hood assembly , burner , and Gas to W ater heat exchanger as described in Sections 14.
13. Domestic Hot W ater Sensor . Check that the electricity supply to the appliance is turned off. Hinge the facia assembly in the servicing position as described in Section 14.3(c and d). Carefully pull off the tw o leads from the sensor . Undo and remo ve the clamping scr ew .
20. Control Boar d. Check that the electricity supply to the appliance is turned off. Undo the 3 screw s and remo ve the facia bott om panel. R emov e the two upper screw s and hinge down the facia assembly . Carefully pull off all the connect or s. Disconnect the mains supply lead at terminal X1 and the earth connection at the back.
