6 SECTION III: GENERAL INFORMATION FEATURES This water heater contains t he following feat ures: MAIN POWER O N/OFF SWITCH – The front panel of this water heater has a lighted ON/OFF switch, which is illuminated when the main power is turned on to indicate power to the water heater.
7 TEMPERATURE AN D PRE SSURE RELIEF VALVE – CONDENSA TE DRAIN - The water heater should either be raised several in ches above the floor on a concrete slab or use a l ow profile condensate pump to allo w free drainage of condensate from the elbow drain fitting.

If this water heater operates under hard water conditions, the follo wing should be performed at least every 3 months: Turn off wa ter supply and dra in the water he ater.
9 SECTION IV: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS This water heater MUST be installed indoors ou t of the wind and w eather. Note: For California installation this w ater heater must be braced, anchored, or strapped to av oid falling or moving during an earthquake.
10 UNPACKING INSPECT SHIPME NT carefully f or any signs of dama ge. 1. All equipment is carefully manuf actured, inspected and packed. 2. Any claim s for damage or shortage i n shipme nt must be fil ed immedi ately with Bra dford White Corporatio n and noted on the Bill of Lading.

19 CAUTION The vent shall terminate a minimum of 12 inc hes (30.5 cm) above e xpected snowfall level to prevent blockage of ve nt termination. 42 DRAINING WATER HE ATER The water heater m ust be drained if it is to be shut down and exposed to freezing tem peratures. Maintenance and service proced ures may also require draining the water heater. 1. Turn off the water heate r electrical disconnect switch.
43 ANODE INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT This water heater is equipped with multiple sacrificial anod es. Anodes protect the gl ass-lin ed tank from corrosion by sacrific ing themselves through el ectrolysis. When the anode m aterial is consumed, th er e is no more protection and corrosion of the tank accelerates.
