BAS-31 1H iii CAUTION Sewing This sewing machine should only be used by operators who have received the necessary training in safe use beforehand. The sewing machine should not be used for any applications other than sewing. Be sure to wear protective goggles when using the machine.

Using the lo wer thread counter If you use the lower thread counter to set the number of articles which can be sewn with the amount of lower thread available, you can stop the lower thread running out in the middle of sew ing a pattern.

NOTE: • Make sure the SD card is facing the correct w ay . • The cover should be closed at all times except when the SD card is inserted and removed, otherwise dust may cause trouble.

Applying grease (Feed mechanism) If you are frequently sewing heavy-weight materials, using the sewing machine for long periods or using the sewi ng machine in places where there is a lot of dus t, it is recommended that you apply grease to maintain the performance of the feed mechanism.

10. ST ANDARD ADJUSTMENTS BAS-31 1H 63 10-10. Replacing the mova ble and fixed knives 1. Loosen the t wo bolts (1) and t hen remove the feed plate (2). 2. Open the shuttle race cover, remove the t wo screw s (3) and the two flat screws (4), and th en remove the needle plate (5).

Loosen the two screws (3) and shift the entire solenoid setting plate (4) up or dow n to adjust so that the thread w iper (2) is 15 mm in front of the needle center when the plunger (1) of the thread w iper solenoid is driven to the full stroke.
10. ST ANDARD ADJUSTMENTS BAS-31 1H 66 10-14. Adjusting the intermittent work clamp The intermittent stroke can be adjusted to within 2 − 10 mm by adjusting the position of the stepping clamp connecting rod and changing the installation posit ion of stepping clamp link A.

Loosen the nut (3), and then ad just the position of the st epping clamp connecting rod (4). • When the stepping clamp connecting rod (4) is ra ised, the intermittent stroke will increase.
10. ST ANDARD ADJUSTMENTS BAS-31 1H 68 10-15. Adjusting the work clamp lift amount <Motor-driven work clamp specification s> The operation panel settings can be used to adjust the height to w ithin 15 − 25 mm. (Refer to "5-5. Setting the work clamp lift amount.
