When you replace t he ton er cartridge or the drum un it, make sure t hat you clean the ins ide of t he machine. If p rinted pages are s tained with toner, clea n the inside of the machine with a dry, lint-free cloth.

32 i Turn the drum unit g ear toward you by hand while checking the surface of the suspected area. j When you have found the mark on the drum that matches the drum dot check sheet, wipe the surf ace of the drum gently with a cotton swab until the mark on the surface c omes off .
