CHAPTER 2 SETTING UP THE PRINTER 2–7 Installing the Toner Cartridges This printer uses 4 separate color (Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) toner cartridges. One of each is supplied. A new cartridge contains enough toner to print up to 10,000 (Black): 6,000 (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) A4 or letter-size single-sided pages at about 5% coverage.
USER’S GUIDE 2–8 4. Install the 4 toner cartridges by positioning them in the correct guides. Each color cartridge is individually keyed to prevent improper installation. Match each cartridge color label to the corresponding color label on the printer.

Open the Top Cover and release t he pressure on the Fusi ng Unit roll ers by pushing the Pressure Release Levers to the OPEN position ( ). USER’S GUIDE 2–14 Connecting the Printer to Your Computer This printer has a bi-directional parallel interface and an RS-232C serial interface. They allow the printer to communicate with IBM/PC ® or compatible comput ers.

Pr ess the Mode button and then press the Set Button. When you enter the interface mode, the display first shows the currently selected interface marked with an asterisk.
