55 A A Replac ing the ink cartridges A Your mac hine is equipped with an in k dot counter. The ink dot counter mo nitors the level of ink in each of the four c artridges. When the machine de tects an ink ca r tridg e is running out of ink, the machine will di s play a message.

66 Cannot Detect You instal led a new ink cartridge t oo quickly and t he machi ne did not detect it. Take ou t the new ink car tridge and re install it slowly a nd f irmly unt il it latches . (See Replacing th e ink cartridges on page 5 5.) An ink cartridge i s not installed cor r ect l y.

68 Ink Absorber Full The ink absorbe r box or flush ing box is full. T hese compon ents are periodic ma intenance i tems that may require r eplacement a fter a period o f time to ensure opt imum performance from your Broth er machine.
Troubleshooti ng 69 B Ink low One or more of the ink c artridges are near the end of their l ife. If one of the color ink car tridges is near the en d of its life and someone is sending yo u a col o r f ax, your ma chine’s “handshak e” will as k that the f ax be sent in bl ack & whi te.
70 Out of Fax Memory The fax memory i s full. Do one of the followi ng: Clear the d ata fr om the m emory. To gain ex tra memor y, you c an turn off M emory R eceive. (See Adv anced U ser’s Guide: Turning o ff Memory Receive operations .) Print t he faxes that a re in the mem ory.

Check whi ch ink car tridges are not matched by c olor to their in k cartridge positions and move them to their c orr ec t po si ti ons .
