7 TIMER OPERA TION CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is alw ay s set, before using y our cooker. SYMBOLS A ‘bell’ symbol will light up when you select a Minute Minder Period and will remain lit for the period set.
8 TIMER OPERA TION SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven controls ar e turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When switched on the display will show 0.00 and the A uto symbol , flashing intermittently .
9 TIMER OPERA TION Step 3 Press and hold in the C ook Period button. The display will read 0.00 with the ‘ cookpot’ symbol lit. Step 4 With the Cook P eriod button still held in, set the required Coo k P er iod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
10 TIMER OPERA TION Step 4 Press & hold in the C ook Period button, the displa y will read 0.00 and the ‘ cookpot ’ symbol will light up. With the Cook P eriod button still held in set the required Cook P er iod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
11 TIMER OPERA TION O THER NO TES ON TIMER OPERA TION 1. When cooking Automatically the Cook P er iod can be checked at an y time simply b y pressing the Cook Period button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime by simply pr essing the End Time button.
The hotplate has one v ery high speed wok burner , one high speed burner and two simmering burners which will accommodate pans between 100mm (4”) and 230mm (9”) diameter . All pans should be positioned centrally ov er the burners. T O USE THE HO TPLA TE 1.
CA UTION – AC CESSIBLE P ARTS MA Y BECOME HO T WHEN THE GRILL IS IN USE. Y OUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT A W A Y . GRILL P AN HANDLE The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan to facilitate cleaning . The handle can be either detachable from or fixed t o the pan.
The follo wing chart is a guide. Grilling can be star ted from co ld but f or best results preheat for appr oximately tw o minutes. Most cooking is done wit h the heat on full, but it may be desirable t o reduce it for thicker pieces of mea t or for keeping food warm.
The main ov en can be used in two differen t modes. The choice of mode is selected by the “F an Selec t” button on the fascia, pressing in for fan mode.
T O USE THE MAIN OVEN 1. Check that the electricity supply is switched on and the timer is set to manual mode. 2. Place ov en shelves in the chosen positions. (r efer to c ooking char ts). 3. Select the oven mode with the “F an Selec t” button on the fascia: ( in ) for fan mode OR ( out ) for c onv entional mode.
C OLD ST ART COOKING Anything requiring long slow c ooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold ov en. Satisfactory results can also be obtained with creamed mix ture , rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but for perfection we recommend preheating the o ven for about 15 minutes at the gas mark y ou require for c ooking.

The ‘Slow C ook’ setting on the main oven thermostat is used for slow cooking in con- ventional mode only , keeping f ood warm and warming plates for short periods. USING THE ‘SL OW COOK’ SETTING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow C ook’ setting should be cook ed f or a minimum 6 hours.
The top ov en can be used to cook small quantities of f ood or us ed in conjunction with the main oven t o provide additional cooking space. The shelf in the top ov en has a heat shield fitted at the r ear . The shield can be removed for cleaning and grilling , but must be replaced when using the ov en.

Switch off the electricity supply and allow to c ool before cleaning the cook er . Clean the cooker r egularly and wipe up spills soon after they occur to prev ent them from becoming burnt on.

26 CARE AND CLEANING Take particular care not to damage the inner sur face of the door inner glass tha t is coated with a hea t reflective la yer . Do not use scouring pad s, or abrasiv e powder , which will scratch the glass. Ensur e that the glass panel is not subjected to any sharp mechanical blo ws.

31 SP A CE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplat e level. This requir es a minimum distance of 600mm between cupboard units of hotplat e height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , partition or wall, for a minimum distance of 400mm above hotplat e level, allow a side clear ance of at least 65mm.

C ONNECTING T O GAS SUPPL Y The cooker is designed to match the depth of standar d 600mm wor ktops. An adapt or backplate should, theref ore , be fitted within the shaded area shown t o allow the cooker to be pushed fully to the wall. Connection to the cooker should be made with an approv ed appliance flexible connection to BS 669.
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a properly ear thed, r eadily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directly above , and no t more than 1.25m a way from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot t ouch hot parts of the cook er i.
