NEVER . . . NEVER leav e children unsuper vised where the cook er is installed as all sur faces will get hot during and after use. NEVER allow anyone to sit or stand on any par t of the cooker . NEVER store items that children may attempt to reach abov e the c ooker .
6 HO TPL A TE The hotplate has one large high speed burner , two normal simmering burners and one small simmering burner which will accommodate pans between 100mm (4”) and 200mm (8”) diameter . All pans should be positioned centrally ov er the burners.
7 HO TPL A TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FRYING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one third full with oil or fat . 2. Never leave oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng per iod . 3. Never heat fat or fr y with a lid on the pan. 4.
8 The grill pan can be pulled out to safety stops for viewing and for turning the food . T o remov e the pan: pull it forward to the stop , lift it upwards and remov e outwards. T O USE THE GRILL 1. Pr ess the ignition button and then push in and turn the contr ol k nob anti-clock wise to the large flame symbol.
The oven has different heat zones – the thermostat settings ref er to the temperatur e on the middle shelf position; abov e this shelf it is hotter and below it is cooler . T wo shelves enable full use of the temperatures inside the ov en. Each shelf has a safety stop to prev ent if from being pulled ou t too far when attending to food.
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything requiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold oven. S atisfactor y results can also be obtained with creamed mix ture , rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but for per fec tion we recommend preheating the oven for about 15 minutes.
The following times and setting are for guidance only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to give a result more to your satisfaction. When a different setting to that shown below is given in a recipe , the recipe instructions should be f ollowed . Allow 15 minutes preheat for best results .
12 O VEN C OOKING CHART When bak ing with two trays or tins on t wo levels, the top tray is removed first and the lower tray moved up to the top position for a few minutes longe r. Sof t Margarine – Use the oven settings recommended by the margarine manufacturer and not those indicated on the cook ing chart.
The ‘Slow Cook’ setting on the oven thermostat is used for slow cook ing , keeping food warm and warming plates for shor t per iods. USING THE ‘SL OW COOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow Cook’ setting should be cook ed for a minimum 6 hours.
T ake c are as accessible sur faces inside the storage compartment will become hot when the ov en is in use. The storage compartment is ideal for s toring saucepans, meat pans etc. Do not use it for storing combustible materials , flammable liquids or aerosols .
15 CARE AND CLEANING Clean the cooker regularly and wipe up spills soon af ter they occur to prev ent them from becoming burnt on. Nev er use biologic al washing powder , caustic cleaners, harsh abrasiv es, scouring pads, steam cleaners, aeros ol cleaners or oven chemical cleaners of any k ind .

C OOKER HOODS If a cooker hood is to be installed, refer to the cooker hood m anufac turer’ s instructions regarding fixing height. SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplate level. This requires a minimum distance of 503mm between cupboard units of hotplate height.
