6 Safety Instructions All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Read all of the instructions given here and retain them for later use. Unplug this projector from AC power supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
7 Immediately turn the power off, unplug the projector , and contact your dealer under the following conditions, otherwise a fire or an electric shock may result. – If smoke comes out from it. – If it emits a strange odor , or makes a strange noise.
8 – Remove the batteries when they have been exhausted or not in use for an extended period of time. – Be sure to replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix batteries of different types. – Insert batteries correctly according to the “+” and “-“ markings.
9 Openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation. T o ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, these openings must not be blocked or covered. CAUTION Hot air is exhausted from the exhaust vent. When using or installing the projector , the following precautions should be taken.
10 Install the projector properly . Improper installation may reduce the lamp life and cause fire hazard. Choose the running speed of cooling fans in the fan control setting according to the altitude in which the projector is being used (p.63). Failure to do so may affect the projector life.

21 Installation Connecting the AC Power Cord This projector uses nominal input voltages of 100–240 V AC and it automatically selects the correct input voltage. It is designed to work with single-phase power systems having a grounded neutral conductor .
22 The preparation display will disappear after 30 seconds. (See page 60 for Lamp mode status.) T urning On the Projector Connect the projector ’ s AC power cord into an AC outlet. The POWER indicator lights red. Press the POWER button on the remote controller or on the top control.
23 What is PIN code? PIN (Personal Identification Number) code is a security code that allows the person who knows it to operate the projector . Setting a PIN code prevents unauthorized use of the projector . A PIN code consists of a four-digit number .
24 TO MAINT AIN THE LIFE OF THE LAMP , ONCE YOU TURN THE PROJECTOR ON, W AIT A T LEAST FIVE MINUTES BEFORE TURNING IT OFF . Power off? disappears after 4 seconds. T urning Off the Projector Press the POWER button on the remote controller or on the top control, and Power off? appears on the screen.
25 How to Operate the On-Screen Menu The projector can be adjusted or set via the On-Screen Menu. The menu has a hierarchical structure, with a main menu that is divided into submenus, which are further divided into other submenus. For each adjustment and setting procedure, refer to respective sections in this manual.

27 Zoom and Image Position Adjustment Press the ZOOM +/- buttons on the top control to adjust the screen size. Screen size can be adjusted 84% to 100% from its maximum screen size. It is not available when On-Screen menu is displayed. Zoom adjustment can be memorized.
3D 3D 28 Basic Operation Auto setup function is provided to automatically execute the setting of Auto setup (includes Auto input and Auto PC functions) in the Setting Menu by just pressing the AUT O SET button on the remote controller . Refer to page 53 for the setting of the Auto setup function.
3D 29 Basic Operation Sound Adjustment 1 2 Press the MENU button to display the On-Screen Menu. Use the Point buttons to select Sound . Press the Point or the OK button to access the submenu items. Press the VOLUME+/– buttons on the remote controller or on the top control to adjust the volume.
30 Basic Operation Remote Controller Operation Using the remote controller for some frequently used operations is advisable. Just pressing one of the buttons enables you to make the desired operation quickly without calling up the On-Screen Menu.

36 Computer Input PC adjust Menu Manual PC adjustment Some computers employ special signal formats which may not be tuned by Multi-scan system of this projector . Manual PC adjustment enables you to precisely adjust several parameters to match those signal formats.
37 Computer Input T o store the adjusted data, select Store and then press the Point or the OK button. Move the highlight to one of the Modes 1 to 10 in which you want to store, and then press the OK button. T o clear the stored data, select Mode free and then press the Point or the OK button.

42 Computer Input Keystone This function is used to adjust keystone distortion of the projected image. Use the Point buttons to choose the item you want to adjust. Keystone T o correct keystone distortion, press the OK button. Keystone appears on the screen.

53 Auto input This function detects the input signal automatically . When a signal is found, the search will stop. Use the Point buttons to select one of the following options. Off ......... Auto input dose not work. On 1 ....... Auto input works under the following situation.
54 This function is used to memorize the Zoom adjustment with the ZOOM +/- buttons on the top control (p.27). Press the Point buttons to select Reset, Store1 or Store2. Reset ... Reset the Zoom adjustment when the projector is turned off or the AC power cord is unplugged.
55 This function decides whether to display On-Screen Displays. On ........................... Show all the On-Screen displays. Use this function when you want to project images after the lamp becomes bright enough. The factory default setting is this option.
56 Capture Capture This function enables you to capture an image being projected to use it for a starting-up display or interval of presentations. Select Capture and press the OK button. A confirmation box appears and select Y es to capture the projected image.
57 Enter a Logo PIN code Use the Point buttons to enter a number . Press the Point button to fix the number and move the red frame pointer to the next box. The number changes to . If you fixed an incorrect number , use the Point button to move the pointer to the number you want to correct, and then enter the correct number .
58 Setting This function is only used for HDMI input source. Image Select Normal or Enhanced to match the video range setting of your HDMI Digital RGB equipment. Sound HDMI .......... When using the HDMI cable, select HDMI . Both video and audio* are transferred and you need not to connect any additional cables for audio.
59 Setting T imer left before Lamp is off . Power management mode For reducing power consumption as well as maintaining the lamp life, the Power management mode function turns off the projection lamp when the projector is not operated for a certain period.
60 Setting Closed Caption is a function that displays the audio portion of a TV program as text on the screen. If the input signal contains Closed captions, you can turn on the feature and switch the channels. Press the Point buttons to select Off , CC1 , CC2 , CC3 or CC4 .

65 Input Source Information Display The Information Menu is used for checking the status of the image signal being projected and the operation of the projector . The information menu changes each time you press the INFO. button on the remote controller as follows.

68 Cleaning the Projector Cabinet Cleaning the Projection Window Unplug the AC power cord before cleaning. First, remove the dust with a commercially available air blower . Then gently wipe the projection window surface. Use a cleaning paper moistened with methyl alcohol (methanol).
69 When the projection lamp of the projector reaches its end of life, the Lamp replacement icon appears on the screen and LAMP REPLACE indicator lights yellow . Replace the lamp with a new one promptly . The timing when the LAMP REPLACE indicator should light is depending on the lamp mode.
70 This projector uses a high-pressure lamp which must be handled carefully and properly . Improper handling may result in accidents, injury , or create a fire hazard. Lamp life may differ from lamp to lamp and according to the environment of use.
