setting up your pc 9 To connect the cable between the m odem and the telep hone service line: 1 Plug one end of a mod em cable ( D ) into t he modem conn ector ( A ) on the back of the PC ( C ). This connector may be labeled with either Line or a modem connector symbol.

The ad vantages of using standby mode include: • Y ou save time and electricity without having to wait for the PC to go through the normal startup routine when you wake it agai n.
setting up your pc 13 hibernation mode When the PC is in hibernatio n mode, it saves everything tha t is in PC memory to the hard disk drive, turns off the monitor and the hard disk drive, and then turns itself off. Wh en you turn on the PC again, y our programs, folders, and documents are restored to t he screen.
