EEPROM The primary mi croprocessor determin es the pow er supply ID, start-up param eters, calibration con stants and s cale factors by reading the factory -initialized EEPROM.
Front Panel Board The front-pan el board, see Figure 4-2, con tains the VOL TS and AMPS display circuits, the rotary pulse gen erator (RPG) and RPG decoders, f ive pu shbutt on sw itches , mode in dicators, and th e OVP ADJUS T potentiomet er.

These ci rcuits con vert the ac in put pow er to approxim ately 320Vdc, and convert this dc voltage to the proper dc output voltage.
Input Circuits . Pr imary po w er is co nnected thro ugh the AC Input Filter to the LINE sw itch and to the normally open contact s of the Inrush-Limit relay. When LINE switch is closed , current flows through the inr ush current limiting resistor and the norm ally closed relay con tacts to the Bridge Rectif ier/Voltage Doubler.
Control Board Figu re 4-6 is a block diagram of the con trol board. These circuit s mon itor the pow er supply operation and provide th e signals that control the pow er mesh. + 5V Bia s Supply. This circuit operates from th e + 5V Unregulated voltage f rom the m ain board, and generates + 5V and + 2.
Constant Current (CC) Circuit. The Constant Current Circu it compares the CURRENT SENSE voltage level to CC PROGRAMMING VOLTAGE to produce CC CONT ROL SIGNA L. CURRENT SENSE is develo ped across the current -mon itor resist or on the m ain board, an d is proportional to the pow er supply output curren t.
Control Voltage Com parator. This circuit compares th e voltage at the CONTROL PORT (represents power requ ired at output) w ith PRIMARY CURRENT RAMP voltage (represents energy b eing stored for transf er to output).
