3 Y our dishwasher cleans b y spra ying a mixture of hot w ater and detergent through the spray arms against soiled surf aces. Each cycle begins with a pre-drain. Next, the dishw asher fills with water cov e ring the filter area. Water is then pumped through the filter and spr a y ar ms.
4 V er y Impor tant Inf ormation— Read Before Operating Y our Dishwasher! Normal Operating Sounds This dishwasher does not sound lik e most dishwashers—IT’S QUIETER. Y our Precision Wash System® dishw asher uses energy efficient motors f or the wash and drain por tions of the cycle you select.
5 Operating Instructions (continued) Hi-T emp W ash Option (a v ailable select models) When HI-TEMP WASH ON option is selected, the dishwasher heats the water in the main wash to approximately 140°F (60°C). Wash action will continue but timer will not advance until proper temperature is reached.
6 Preparing and Loading Dishes Dish Preparation Scrape a wa y large pieces of f ood, bones, pits, toothpicks , etc. The continuous filtered wash system will remov e remaining food par ticles. Bur ned-on foods should be loosened bef ore loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups.

9 Dishwasher Dispenser & Deter g ents How m uch Detergent to use The amount of detergent to use depends on the water hardness . W ater hardness is measured in grains per gallon. Using too little detergent can result in poor cleaning and hard water filming or spotting.
10 Dishwasher Dispenser & Detergents (continued) Rinse Aid Rinse aid greatly impr oves drying and reduces water spots and filming. W ater “sheets” off dishes rather than forming water droplets that cling and leav e spots.
11 Care and Cleaning Outside —Occasionally wipe with a mild nonabrasive detergent and w ater . Rinse and dr y . Models with Stainless Steel Door — Clean stainless steel door with Stainless Steel Magic, trademark of Magic Amer ican Cor p ., or similar product using a clean, soft cloth.
12 Connecting and Disconnecting the P or table/ Con ver tible Dishwasher The portable/convertible dishwasher must be connected to a faucet and electrical outlet each time it is used.
13 Solutions to Common Dishwashing Pr oblems Glassware/Flatware Spotted or Cloudy • Check w ater hardness. F or extremely hard water , it may be necessary to install a water softener . (See Detergent Char t.) • W ater temperature ma y be low . A void e xtremely low or high temperatures .
14 Solutions to Common Dishwashing Pr oblems (continued) Dishwasher Leaks • Use only fresh detergent designed for automatic dishwashers . Measure detergent carefully . T ry a different brand. • Spilled rinse aid can cause foam and lead to ov erflowing.
15 Solutions to Common Dishwashing Pr oblems (continued) Dishwasher Does Not Drain Pr operly • If unit is hooked up to a f ood waste disposer , make sure the disposer is empty . • Check to see if the knoc kout plug has been remov ed from inside the food w aste disposer inlet.
