11 Pr eparing to Br ew A Inser ting the Char coal water lter Y our appliance is supplied with tw o char coal water lters. Befor e using your coff eemak er , we highly r ecom- mend that you insert one to remo v e impurities from y our water , impro ving water quality and ultimately the a v our of your coff ee .
12 N.B. W e strongl y recommended that the water lter is replaced after 90 da ys or 90 uses; more often if y ou ha ve hard water . Failure to do so can lead to a build-up of limescale and affect the perf ormance of your a p- pliance.
13 ß Replace the lter bask et in the lter basket holder , by aligning the cut out of the bask et opposite the handle , with the cut out at the back of the chamber and ip the lid closed. C Preparing the Caraf e ß Remo ve thermal caraf e lid by turning in the dir ection of the ‘unlock’ arro w .
14 Br ewing Coff ee Now the coffee machine is r eady to bre w . A Immediate and Pr ogrammed Br ewing: T urn the function knob to bre w , press the ‘On/Off ’ button and the red indicator light will illuminate and the pr ocess will begin.
15 N.B. Whilst we off er this featur e for y our conv enience , we do not r ecommend that you pour coffee bef ore the cycle has reached completion, since the coffee br ewed at the beginning of the cycle has a v er y different a vour pr o le to that made at the end of the cycle.
16 Pr ogramming y our coffee mak er A Setting the Clock 1. T urn the function knob to ‘Clock’ 2. Set Hour : press and hold the ‘Hour’ button until the number begins to ash, then release and pr ess and hold again to scr oll through the n umbers quickly .
17 4. T urn the function knob to ‘Auto On’. The LCD displa y will then show the current time. 5. Press the On/Off button and r elease . The green indicator light will come on to r emind you that the pr ogramming function is in use . At the programmed time, the red indicator will come on as w ell, indicating that the bre w cycle is star ting.
