D-Link DHS-3224V Switc h User’s Guide 21 New Root This trap indicates that the Switch h as become the new root of the Spanning Tree, the trap is sent by the Switch soon after it is elected as the new root.
D-Link DHS-3224V Switc h User’s Guide 22 SNMP The Simple Net work Managem ent Prot ocol (SNMP) is an OSI laye r 7 (the appl ication lay er) protoc ol for remotely m onitoring and con figuring net work devices.
D-Link DHS-3224V Switc h User’s Guide 23 Some filtering is done automatically by the switch: Dynamic Filtering: automatic learning an d aging of MAC addresses and their location on the network . Filtering occurs to keep lo cal traffic confined to its segment.
D-Link DHS-3224V Switc h User’s Guide 24 Determining Switch Stack Order If you are us ing a stacke d switch a rrangement it is im portant to u nderstand how Swit ch stack or der is established.
