4 Introduction The D-Link DVG-1402S High-Sp eed VoIP Rout er Links tradition al telephon y networks to IP network s with conventional tel ephon y devices such as anal og phones or f ax machines. It can red uce long dist ance phone charg es and deli ver toll-qualit y voice communication o ver the IP network.
5 Rear Panel Connections Phone Connections Connect to your phones using standard phone cabling. All Ethernet Por ts (WAN and LAN) are auto MDI/MD IX, meaning you can use either a straight-through or a crossover Etherne t cable. Auto MDI/M DIX LAN Ports Connect the Ethernet cable from computers on your LAN to these ports.
6 Front Panel LEDs Powe r LED A solid light indicates a valid connection to the power supply. Status LED A blinking LED indicates the DVG-1402S is functioning properly. W AN LED An active LED indicates a lin k has been established. A blinking LED indicates activity on the W AN port.

8 Installation For a typical set up at home, pleas e do the followi ng: 1. You will need broa dband Internet ac cess (a Cable o r DSL-subscr iber line into your hom e or office) 2. Consult with your Cable or DSL provider for proper installat ion of the modem 3.
9 Using the Configuration Wizard W henever you want to configure your network or the DVG-1402 S, you can access the Configuration Menu b y opening the web-bro wser and typing in th e IP Addres s of the DVG-1402S.
