www.desatech.com 113135-01A 17 NOTICE: During initial operation of new fireplace, burning logs will give off a paper-burning smell. Orange flame will also be present. Open window to vent smell. Operate fireplace on HI position to burn off odor. This will only last a few hours.

This fireplace has a safety inter - lock system. W ait one (1) minute for sys- tem to reset befor e lighting pilot again.
www.desatech.com 113135-01A 19 INSPECTING BURNERS Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame pat- terns often. PILOT FLAME PATTERN Figure 30 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Fig- ure 31 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not touching the thermo- couple.
