Inserting the battery 2. Getting S tarted This sect ion covers only ba sic functions. See late r chapters for details about advanced functions. 2.1 Installing the batteries The camera can use either standard two AA alkaline Bat teri es or one CR V3 lithium batter y (shown).
3. Close the battery door . Inserting an SD ca rd Note: Th e pictures here show a C R V3 lithium battery . The camera can also use 2 AA alkaline type batteries. Be sure the batteries are installed properly . Batteries inserted upside down can damage the product.

2.6 T aki ng still pictures T ak ing your first still picture Before taking your first still picture, ensure you have read “ Before you start” on page 8. T o take a still picture: 1. T urn the camera on and make sure it is in photo mode. 2. Use the viewfinder or LCD screen to frame the picture.

3. Using the Camera Using the camera buttons Read this section to le arn how to use the camera. 3.1 Using the camera buttons All buttons are located on the t op and the back of the camera.

3.2 Using the camera LCD display Use the LCD display to compos e your pictures an d videos, review pictures and vid e os stored in memory , and navigate the menu system . Icons are also displayed on th e LCD display that show the current configuration.

SD card capacities The number of pictures you can take varies depending on the complexity of the scene b e ing photographed. The minutes of music that y our card can hold depends on the rate at which your songs were recorded. The standard bit rate for MP3 recordings is 128 Kbps.
