Oper a ting Instructions FIRST START When rst installed, the chimney , rebricks and steel are cold and it usually takes several hours on a fairly high burn f or them to become hot and dry enough f or the sto ve to function well.
REPLACING THE GLASS: Never strike or slam the door , hit the glass or let burning wood rest against it. If the glass cracks when the re is burning, do not open the door until the r e is out and do not oper ate the stove again until the glass has been replaced.
6 Oper a ting Instructions MAINTENANCE: At the end of each heating season clean the chimney and the smoke pipe. If soot has accumulated above the top bafe bricks, remove, clean, and then replace them. If the secondary air tube is badly eroded, replace it.

8 Oper a ting Instructions length f or the logs used in the 1200 would be about 16“ (381 mm) but it can burn pieces up to 18” long. Ideal length for the logs used in the 1700 would be about 18“ (381 mm) but it can burn pieces up to 20” long logs.

21 Inst alla tion Please read and understand these instructions before instal ling pedestal or ash pan and leg option. F ailure to follow these instructions carefully could cause personal injury or property damage. All screws are pre-installed on the base of the unit.
• Place the unit on the pallet on its back. • Attach pedestal spacer to bottom of the unit, using the supplied screws. • Attach the air channel box to the front of the pedestal spacer using two (2) T -20 screws. • Slide the ash pan assembly over the bolts, using the key -holed slots provided, and tighten all f our (4) bolts.
23 Inst alla tion O UTSIDE A IR K IT : It is mandatory to use outside air for installations in mobile homes. A 4” (10.2 cm) fresh air adaptor ki t is av ailable. This adaptor can be installed either on the back pedestal or through the oor under the pedestal.

A non-combustible oor protector is required under all freestanding units; refer to “ C LEARANCES T O C OMBUSTIBLES - 1200 F REESTANDING ” or “ C LEAR ANCES T O C OMBUSTIBLES - 1700 F REESTANDING ” .

The ue collar is remov able for installations into replaces with low openings . a) Remo ve the rst two (2) front secondary air tube and ceramic bafes, if installed (see C ERAMIC B AFFLE I NSTALLATION ) . b) Unscrew the nut on top of the inside of the rebox, using a 9 / 16 ” wrench or socket (see Figure 34).

33 Inst alla tion I NSTALLATION U SING A B LOCK -O FF P LATE F OR USA O NLY - I NSERT : If this unit is to be instal led into a masonry replace or a zero-clear ance replace with a direct connection you must install a non-combustible seal-off device such as a block -off plate or damper adapter .

Mount the block -off plate using masonry screws in a masonry replace and sheet metal screws on a zero- clearance replace (screws need only be long enough to penetrate the rst layer of metal). 6. Insulate the block -off plate using high-temperature berglass insulation and furnace cement.
