12 3.1.3 Speed Control Lever : Locat ed in m iddle of control console, it cont rols the maximum f or ward speed and is infinitely variable from neutral (0 mph) t o 6.2 mph. Park brake must be disengaged bef ore speed control lever is moved out of neut r al or engine will kill.
13 Pull the lever up and rearw ard to eng age the brak e. Push the lever forw ard and down to diseng ag e the brake. W hen park ing on a steep slope, t he wheels must be chock ed or blocked in addition to the br ak e being engag ed. The unit m ust be tied down and brake engaged when transpor t ing .
14 NOTE: A cold w eather start i ng ki t has been added for ease of starti ng i n either cold w eather or w hen the unit has not been run for a period of time. To use co ld start kit: a) Pull split r ing straight out the side of t he unit, and hook t he ring over the lower front hydro cont r o l shield bolt .
15 (or the index f inger on the f ront lobe) and r ot at e t hem f rom under t he drive levers. Slowly and carefully release the dr ive lev er s. See Figur e 2 ( d) . To place the dr ive levers in the “ r everse” posit ion, squeeze the drive levers past the neutral posit ion.

17 4. MAINTENA NCE & A DJUSTMENTS WA RNING POTENT IAL HAZARD ♦ W hile maint enance or adj ustments are being made, som eone could st ar t the engine. W HAT CAN HAPPEN ♦ Accidental start ing of the eng ine could seriously injure you or other bystanders.

19 4.1.4 Check saf ety interlock system : Serv ice Interv al: Daily a) For your saf ety, your Exmark m ower is eq uipped with Oper at or Presence Controls (O PC) . W hen either the PTO is eng aged, or t he speed control lever is not in neutral and bot h hands ar e r em oved f rom the handles, t he mower engine MUST stop.
20 4.1.8 Check hydraulic oil level : Serv ice Interv al: 40 hr. a) St op eng ine and wait for all moving par ts to stop. b) Clean ar ea ar ound hydraulic r eser voir cap and r em ove cap. O il level should be to the top of the baf fle inside the t ank .

29 3. Squeeze the respective drive lever until an increased resist ance is felt, this is where neutral should be. If t he wheel turns while holding the drive lever in neutral, t he neut ral control link ag es need to be adjusted. I f wheel stop then go to st ep 7.
