6 Domino DF 500 Tenon Joiner Functional Description The Domino DF 500 Tenon Joiner is used to cut mortises in wood for floating tenon joinery. Mortise and tenon joi n ery is one of the oldest and strongest methods of joining pieces of wood together.

8 Domino DF 500 Tenon Joiner Setting the Fence Height The height of the fence needs to be adjusted depending on the type of joint bei n g made and the thickness of the material being joi ned. Refer to the Applica tions section beginning on page 13 for more information about the optimal fenc e height fo r the specific applicat ion.
Setting the Mortise Depth The mortising depth determines how deep i n to the workpiece the mortising bi t penetrates. This needs to be adjusted for different sized tenons. In most cases, the tenon should be centered across the joint, and the depth of the mortise should be ½ the length of the tenon.

Shortening a Domino Tenon’s Length There may be times when you need a large Domino tenon, but the length of the tenon does not fit your application. If the gauge is not perfectly centered over the mortising slot, the tw o workpiec es will not be aligned when the join t is assemb led.
