3 About your new cook er Thank you f or buying an ELBA freestanding cooker . Now that it is installed and ready t o use, you will want to know everything about it to ensure excellent results right fr om the start. This guide introduces you t o all its features , as well as giving you a set of cooking char ts.
4 Impor tant safety precautions Isolating switch: make sure this applianc e is connected to a circuit which incorporates an isolating switch providing full disconnection from the power supply . Household appliances are not intended to be played with by children.
5 Ringer timer model This model has a manual timer , which can be set for up to 55 minutes and can be used at an y time, even if the o ven is not in use.

7 Using the timer Y ou can use the timer at an y time, even when the ov en is not in use. The timer does not turn the oven of f . The timer can be set for up to 23 hours and 59 minut es. T o set the timer , press the button briefly , then the and buttons.
8 Use this function to automatically turn your ov en on, cook, and then turn off . Automa tic cooking with the analogue clock T o set the ov en for automatic cooking 1 Check that the clock shows the corr ect time.
9 Automa tic stop cooking with the analogue clock This can be used if you are home t o start cook ing and want the oven t o turn off automatically . T o set the ov en for automatic stop cooking 1 Check the clock shows the corr ect time.
10 Contr ols Using your o ven : models with two c ooking functions (BAKE and GRILL) T urn the oven on by selecting the temperature you want with the temperatur e knob. The oven light will come on automatically . The temperature light will glo w until the oven has reached the set temperature.
11 Cooking functions Depending on your model, y our cooker may hav e a variety of cooking func tions. Before c ooking on F AN or BAKE functions, check the ‘ Cook ing charts’ for the recommended shelf positions.
12 ECO GRILL ECO GRILL is suitable f or single servings or small pieces of food. By using it you can save energy because y ou heat a smaller por tion of the grill element. BAKE This is the traditional method of cooking. It is most suitable for food that requires long cooking such as rich fruit cakes and traditional roasts.

16 The times and temperatures in the c ooking char ts are a guide only and are based on the ov en being preheated first (ex cept in the case of F AN GRILL). Baking Always position the ov en shelves befor e turning the oven on. Grease tins and line bases with non-stick paper .
17 Using the c ooktop Cer amic glass cooktop The ceramic cooktop is made fr om glass ceramic, a tough mat erial that is not affected by changes in temperature. If cared f or , it will continue to function well and look attractive for many years . Elements Y our cooktop has f our individual elements, one of which is a dual circuit element.
18 Choosing the right cookware T o get the best use out of your cookt op, c onsider the following points when selecting pots and pans. Preheat the pots and pans on the c ooktop befor e adding food. It is impor tant that the bottoms of the pots and pans are the same size as the element.
19 Car e and cleaning Impor tant! Do not use abrasive sponges or heavy-dut y scourers of an y type. Do not use corrosive cleaners such as oven spr ays or stain removers. Always turn the cooker off at the wall bef ore cleaning. Wipe the outside surfaces frequently using warm water and a household detergent or a spray-on, wipe- off cleaner .
20 Car e and cleaning Cleaning the radiant cooktop The element bowls should be cleaned regularly t o avoid f ood residue being burned onto the enamel. Wipe out using warm water and detergent or a liquid cleaner containing ammonia.
21 T roubleshooting Problem Possible cause What to do Baking too brown on top Oven not preheated. Always preheat the ov en until the temperature indicator light goes out. F AN BAKE and BAKE take approximat ely 15-20 minutes to preheat. F AN FORCED preheats in approximat ely 13-17 minutes.
