11 W e recommend conditioning the ov en before an y cooking or bak ing and conditioning the warmer drawer bef ore using it for keeping f ood warm. Conditioning will burn off any manufacturing oil residues and ensure that you get the best results right fr om the start.
12 Using the o ven and warmer dr awer T o star t cooking 1 Slide in the shelv es you will need, making sure that: the safety stops point down the guard rail is at the back. 2 Select a func tion. The oven light will c ome on. 3 Set the temperatur e. The temperature indicator light will c ome on.
13 Oven functions Depending on your model, y our oven may hav e only some or all of the func tions below . See sections ‘Oven cooking tips’ and check the ‘Oven cooking charts’ for the recommended shelf positions. ALL MODELS BAKE This is the traditional method of c ooking.
14 Oven functions EIGHT -FUNCTION MODELS ONL Y ADD F AN BAKE A fan at the rear of the oven circulat es hot air from the top and bottom elements around the oven. The fan tends to dry the sur face of the food being cooked, which makes it suitable for crisping foods, eg slic es, pastries and oven-r oasted vegetables.

18 G enerally , the top shelf positions are for grilling, and the middle and low er positions are suitable for baking, roasting and casser oles. Do not place anything on the o ven floor .
1 9 Using the timer Y ou can use the timer at any time, even when the oven is not in use . Impor tant! The timer does NO T turn the oven off . T o set the timer 1 Press . 0 . 00 will show and the symbol will start flashing. 2 Press and t o set the time you want (up to 23 hours and 5 9 minutes, in 1-minute st eps).
20 Aut omatic cooking T o set the oven f or automatic cooking 1 Set the oven: Check the clock shows the corr ect time (eg 12:07). Select the func tion and set the temperature. The oven will turn on. 2 Set the cooking time: Decide how long the food will take to c ook, allowing time for preheating if necessary (eg 40 minutes).
21 Using the c eramic glass cookt op The ceramic cooktop is made fr om glass ceramic, a tough material that is not aff ec ted by changes in temperature. If cared f or, it will c on tinue to function well and look attractive for many years. T emperature limiters are fitted to the elements to pr event the glass from ov erheating.
22 Using the r adiant cooktop The element coils are desig ned to lift and rotate around the pivot, allo wing easy access to the element bowls and bo wl liners for cleaning. See ‘C are and cleaning’ f or details. Impor tant! Before using an element, always check that its bowl liner and suppor t cross are properly in place.
23 Cookwar e T o get the best use out of your cooktop, c onsider the following points when selecting pots and pans. It is impor tant that the bottoms of the pots and pans are the same size as the cooking zone or element. A flat base makes better contact with the cooking zone or element, resulting in shorter cooking times.
24 Impor tant! Always disc onnect the cooker from the pow er supply before any cleaning or maintenance. Before any cleaning or maintenance , make sure the part of the cooker you are about to handle or clean is a safe temperature to touch. Do not use abrasive cleaners, sc ourers, pads or steel wool to clean any part of the cooker .

26 Car e and cleaning What? How? Impor tant! CE R A M IC GLASS C OOKTOP L ight soiling after every use (eg. fingerprints, greasy stains) 1 Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. A microfibr e cloth is ideal for this. 2 Wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
27 Car e and cleaning What? How? Impor tant! R ADIANT COOKT OP - S ee ‘ Using the radiant cooktop ’ for illustration of parts White enamel around elements Soften any stubborn stains under a hot soapy cloth for a f ew minutes. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
28 R emoving and refitting the o ven door T o remove 1 Open the door to the first stop position. 2 Holding the handle firmly with both hands, lift the door up and away fr om the cooker to disengage the hinges. Impor tant! Do not place your hands near the hinges while removing or replacing the door .
2 9 R eplacing the oven light bulb Note: oven bulb r eplacement is not cover ed by your warranty . 1 Let the ov en cavity and the grill element cool down. 2 T urn the power to the cooker off at the wall. Impor tant! Disconnect the cooker from the po wer supply before continuing .
30 Car e and cleaning R eplacing the fuse in the side -mounted pow er outlets (some models only) The two side-mounted power outlets (some models only) are internally fused with one 16 A fuse. Be car eful not to overload them as this will blow the fuse.

Shiny trays/tins being used . Use dark, dull bak ing tins and pans: they absorb heat more quickly and speed up the cooking process.
