5 -EN Intr oduction Y ou can operate most of the functions of this unit with the monitor displa y open or closed (e xcept some operations). For operations with the monitor display c losed, refer to page 41.
6 -EN Basic Operation Detaching the Fr ont P anel 1 Press and hold the PWR (P ower) b utton for more than 2 seconds to turn off the power . 2 Press the (Release) b utton at lower left side until the front panel pops out. 3 Grasp the left side of the front panel and pull it out.
7 -EN Basic Operation T urning P ower On and Off Some of this unit's functions, cannot be perf or med while the vehicle is in motion. Be sure to stop y our vehicle in a saf e location and apply the parking brake , before attempting these operations .

Repeat Pla y 1 Press the RPT (Repeat) button to pla y back repeatedly the trac k being play ed.
17 -EN CD Player/Changer Operation (Optional) Scanning Programs 1 Press the SCAN button to activ ate the Scan mode. The first 10 seconds of each trac k will be pla yed back in succession. T o stop scanning, press the SCAN button and deactivate the Scan mode .
18 -EN Erasing Disc Title 1 When the monitor displa y is open, press the TITLE b utton to select the disc titling mode. Then, press and hold f or at least 3 seconds. 2 Press and hold the - / J b utton for at least 2 seconds to activ ate the title scanning mode.
19 -EN CD Player/Changer Operation (Optional) 2 Press the Disc Select buttons (1 thr ough 6) corresponding to one of the discs loaded in the CD Changer . 20 -EN MD Player Operation (Optional) Pla ying Mini-Disc (MD) When an optional Alpine MD pla yer is connected to the CV A-1003, y ou can control the play er from the CV A-1003. (When the MD A-5051 is connected, MDs can be play ed back only .) 1 Press the SOURCE b utton until the "MD" appears in the displa y .
