ii INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the fi-553 0C Duplex Color Scanner. This document describes h ow to use fi-5530C and basic operation methods. Before you start u sing fi-5530C be sure to thoroughly read this manual to ensure correct use.

4 2. Connect the other end of the USB interface cable to your PC. ■ Connecting with the SCSI Inter- face Cable When using the scanner with a SCSI interface, the fol- lowing SCSI interface cable and SCSI card must be pur- chased.
fi-5530C Image Scanner Getting Started 5 2.3 Installing the Scanner Application For scanning documents with this sca nner, both scanner driver and im age capt uring ap plication software (called "application" hereafter) must be installed on your PC.
6 5. Click [INSTALL PRODUCTS]. 6. Click [TWAIN Driver] on the window below. 7. Error Recovery Guide Installation window appears. Error Recovery Guide is a software that d i s- plays troubleshooting infor m ation on screen when any scanner error occurs.
fi-5530C Image Scanner Getting Started 7 2. Click [INSTALL PRODUCTS]. 3. Click [ScandAll 21] on the window below. 4. Select a language used for insta llation on [Choose Setup Languag e] window and click [OK]. 5. Continue to install the applica tion following the instructions on the window.
8 6. Set scanning resolution, document size, etc. on the [TWAIN driver] window (for se tting details of scanning) and click the [Scan] butto n. 7. Documents are scanned, and the generated images are displayed on the [ScandAll 21] win- dow. If the scanning is completed without any troubles, the installation was performed successfully.

10 3. Click [QuickScan PRO (Trial)] on the window below. 4. Continue to install the application following the instructions on the window. 5. Enter required information, then click [Next >]. 6. Install the application following the instructions on the window.

12 Adobe ® Acrobat ® Install Adobe Acrobat from the "Adobe Acrobat CD-ROM" provided with th is scanner. 1. Insert the Adobe Acrobat CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. ⇒ The "Adobe Acrobat" wi ndow appears. 2. Select the language and Click [OK] button.
fi-5530C Image Scanner Getting Started 13 ■ Uninstalling Supplied Programs Follow the procedure below to uninstall supplied pro- grams. 1. Start up your PC. 2. Exit all currently running programs. 3. Select [Control Panel] - [Add or re move Pro- grams] from the [Start] menu.
14 5. Click the [Change/Remove] or [Remove] but- ton. 6. When the confirmation dialogbox appears, Click the [OK] or [Yes] button. ⇒ This executes the uninstallation. ATTENTION Screen displays may va ry slightly accord- ing to the operation system (OS) you are using.
