11 2 Getting Started Introducing the Hearth & Home Technologies Gas Appliances Hearth & Home Technologies direct vent gas appliances are designed to operate with all combustion air siphoned from outside of the building and all exhaust gases expelled to the outside.

26 Positioning the Logs If the gas logs have been factory installed they should not need to be positioned. If the logs have been packaged separately, refer to the installation instructions that accompany the logs. Save the log instructions with this manual.
27 Installing the Insert (continued) 1. Place a single layer of dime sized pieces of ember mate- rial onto the top of the burner. Place the pieces next to and around the burner ports. 2. After the logs are installed, fill in any spaces on the burn- er surface with ember mate- rial to help hide the burner surface.
