1.5. Call Inputtin g the telephone num ber and mak ing a call 1 If a set telephon e number is show n on the disp lay, you can ma ke a call. Note! If t he telephone number is not set c orrect ly, "NotRegister" or "Network Fa il" is displaye d.
2 When a call comes in, the other p arty's telephone number is displ ayed on the screen. If their name is registered in the contacts list, their name is displayed above the telephon e number. You can answe r the incomin g call by pressing the Send key .

1.7.4 Erase on e item fr om conta ct list Deleting one data item from the contact list . 1 From the con tact list menu , select "1. Searc h". 2 Search for the telephone number you want to delete. (See the section on calling from the contact lis t.
3 A confirm ation message is displayed. Wi th the keys select either "Yes" or "No ". If you select "Y es", the "Dele tion compl ete" message is dis played immedi ately, then the disp lay returns to the contact list me nu.
3 If you select "Y es", the proc ess for dele ting the entire contac t list starts. The "D eletion complete" me ssage is displ ayed immedi ately, then the disp lay returns t o the contact list men u. 1.8. IM Displays th e mail menu .
1.8.1 In box Displays, edi ts, and delete s received mes sages. 1 From the IM menu, select "1 . Inbox". When a message is displayed, the screen becomes as in the figure on the right. 2 If there is an unread messa ge, a screen is di splayed show ing the number of unread mess ages.
4 To edit a received message, select that message, press the LeftSoft key to select the s ub-menu, then s elect "2. Edit ". The screen becomes like the figure on the right, so with the key s move to th e input column yo u want to edit an d then edit it .
5 To delete a message, select the message to delete, press the LeftSoft key to select the s ub-menu, then s elect "3. Dele te". The scree n in the figure on t he right (3rd lin e) is display ed. Select whether or not to delete with the keys, then press the key to finalize the deletion.

5 After the "Message sent" message s creen is i mmedia tely displayed, a screen is displa yed to confirm wheth er or not you w ant to save t he message.
1.8.3 Dr afts An unsent mess age is store d temporari ly. 1 From the IM m enu, select "3. D raft". 2 If you are not sending t he message right away, to save it for later use, press the End ke y. To save the message, select "Yes" with the keys, then press the key.
4 If you press the key for the message displa yed in Step 3, a screen like tha t in the figure on the right is di splayed If you d o nothing with the display screen, the message is automati cally scrolled vertica lly. You can also u se the or key to check a m essage manu ally.
6 To delete a "draft", press the LeftSoft key to select t he sub-menu, then select "3. Delete" . The screen in the figure on the r ight (3rd line) is displayed. Select whether or not to delete with the keys, then press the key to finalize the de letion.
2 Alternative ly, you can use the or key to select t he next message up or down. The selected message is automatically scrolled horizontally to display the entire mes sage. 5 To delete a send message, select that messa ge, press the LeftSoft key to select the sub -menu, then selec t "3. Delete" . The screen in the figure on the r ight (3rd line) is displayed. Select whether or not to delete with the keys, then press the key to finalize the de letion.

1.10.2 User Regist ration Registerin g a user. 1 To regist er a user, either press the " 2" on the number pad or select "2. Register use r", then press t he key. 2 Use the number pad and the LeftSof t key t o enter the user's telep hone number .
1.10.3 Block list Displayin g a list of users registered in the block list. Your status is not disclosed to users registered in the block list. 1 To look at the block list, either press the "3" on the number pad or select "3.Bloc k list", then press t he key.
2 Use the number pad and the LeftSof t key t o enter the user's telep hone number . If you try to input an Alias that is already registered, the "Already registered" m essage is di splayed and the disp lay returns to th e input field .
1.10.5 St atus Changing y our own statu s. 1 To look at a status list, either press the "5" on the number pad or select "5. Status", then p ress the key. 2 You can set th e status by usin g the keys, then press ing the key. There are se ven status modes .

1.11.1.1 Distinct ive Ringto nes You can swi tch the ringt one/ mode/ LED fo r inside lines an d outside lines. 1 To set the ringer for a call coming in on an outside line, either press the "1" on the numb er pad or selec t "1. External 1 ", then press the key.
1.11.1.3 Mo de Setting the mode (bell, vibr ation, bell + vibr ation, or mute) on receipt of inter nal or exter nal calls. 1 To change the r inger m ode, select "2. Mo de". 2 Use the keys to set the mode, then finalize with th e key. There are f our modes.
1.11.1.5 Volume adjust ment Setting the headphone/ea rpiece/ringe r volume. 1 From the t elephone menu, se lect "5. Adjust vo lume". 2 Use the keys to set the volume , then finalize with th e key.
1.11.2 Caller ID Sets whet her or not to displ ay the incom ing telephone num ber. 1 From the s etting menu, se lect "2. Calling n umber". 2 Use the keys to set caller ID on/ off, then finaliz e with the key. 1.11.3 Service LE D Setting the Service LED.

1.11.9 Time settin g Setting the date, time, N TP, and alarm. 1 From the i nformation display m enu, sele ct "9. Clock". 2 From the clo ck menu, sele ct "1. Setting the date and tim e". The date and t ime are disp layed. 3 From the clo ck menu, sele ct "2.
5 Select "3. NT P server 1" o r "4. NTP serv er 2". Use the nu mber pad to inp ut the NTP ser ver IP address. 6 Select "5. Tim e offset".
7 From the clo ck menu, sele ct "6. Alarm". Select "1. Al arm 1" or "2. Al arm 2" or "3 . Alarm 3". In order to change a field (time, bell, number of times, setting) , use the multi-functi on key. To change the setup to "Use", use the key and save the setting.
1 Press and h old down the * ke y on the number pad. 2 Silent mode and vibration mode are switche d On. 3 To end courtesy mode, press and hold down the * key on the numb er pad again.
1.11.12 K eyLoc k/KeyUnl ock When the k eylock is set, bu tton operatio ns are disabled. 1 Press and h old down the Loc k key on the side of the phone. Enter the pass word. Note! The default value for the password is "0000". You can change the password fre ely.
3 To unlock the keylock, press and hold down the Lock key on the side of the phone again. Enter the pass word. Hitachi Ca ble 55.
Various operation methods 1.12.Hold functi on This is use d to put a call o n hold. The hold t one is played on th e terminal th at you have put o n hold.
1.13.Calling metho d 1.13.1 Internal ex tension cal l You can ca ll an internal nu mber by dialing th e <extensio n number>, then pr essing the Send ke y.
1.13.3 184/186 cal l To temporarily switch caller ID On/Off, dial 184 or 186 before you dial the other party's telephone number. 184 (Do not i dentify calle r): Your telephon e number is not i dentified. 186 (Id entify caller): You r telephone number is identified.
1.13.4 Operation me thods us ing call mo de You can make prefixed calls and 184/186 calls from the contact list, incoming call log, and outgoing call log.
1.13.6 Speed dial ing You can m ake a call using its speed dialin g number. 1 Input a speed d ialing numbe r registered in the contact list. 2 Press the last digit in the speed dialing number and hold it down for at least 1 second. For example, for a speed dialing number of 001, hold down the "1" for at least one second .
3 After a short time, a call is made automatically to the telephone number for the speed dial ing number enter ed. Note! If call mode is used when inputting the telephone number, the tim er between digi ts does not operat e.
Accessories 1.14.Accessory g uidelines These gu idelines c oncern WI RELESSIP 5000 acces sories. When unplugging the power cord for an accessory, h old it by the plug. Never pull on the cord itsel f. Keep ac cessories ou t of the r each of ch ildren.
1.17.USB cable (o ption) If you connect your WIRELESS IP5000 to a PC with the USB cable shown in Figure 3, you can ch arge and ch ange sett ings. When setting the WIRELESSIP5 000, check whether your WIRELE SSIP 5000 is directl y connected to your PC with the USB ca ble.
