1 Product Features HP 2310t and 2310ti Models The HP LCD touc h screen monitors have a w ide aspect active ma trix thin-film transistor (TF T) panel. The monitors fe ature: ● 58.
2 Safety and Maintenance Guidelines Important Safety Information A power cord is included with the monitor. If an other cord is used, u se only a power source a nd connectio n appropr iate for th is monitor. For inform ation on th e correct po wer cord set to use with the monitor, refer to Power Cord Set Requireme nts on page 39 .

3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, en sure that the power is turned off to the monito r, computer system, a nd other attached devices, then follow the instructions below.

Routing the Cables Before connectin g the cables, route them through th e cable routing hole i n the center of the sta nd. Figure 3 -3 Routing Cable s Connecting the Cables CAUTION: Before connecting cables to the monitor, en sure that the computer and the mon itor are powered off.
Connecting the DVI-D (Digital) Video Cable For DVI digital op eration, connect one end of the provided DVI-D signal cable to the DVI connector o n the rear of the monitor an d the other end to the DVI connector o n the computer.
Connecting the Audio Cable Connect one end of the provided audio cable to the Audio In connector on the rear of the mon itor and the other end to the Audio Out conne ctor on the co mputer. NOTE: If you connect an HDMI cable (231 0t model only) between the monitor and computer, you do not need to conne ct the audio cable.
Connecting the Power Cord Connect one end of the power cord to the AC power connector on the rear of the mo nitor, and the other end to an ele ctrical wall outlet. Figure 3 -9 Connecting the Powe r Cord WARNING! To reduce the risk of electric shock or da mage to the equipme nt: Do not disable the power cord g rounding plug.
2. Adjust the tilt by moving the top e dge of the monitor either t oward or away from you, without touching the screen. The monitor will tilt forward 5 degrees and back 55 degrees.
Keyboard Parking If you need more space on your desktop , place the keyboard u nder the monitor when not in use. Figure 3 -11 Keyboard Parking Turning on the Monitor 1. Press the power but ton on the comput er to turn it on. 2. Press the power button on the front of the monitor to turn it on.
Removing the Monitor Pedestal Base You can remove the monitor pane l from the pedestal base to mount the p anel on a wall, a swing arm, or other mounting fixtur e (purchased separately). CAUTION: Before beginning to disassemble the monitor, be sure the m onitor is turned off and the power and signal ca bles are both discon nected.
4. Remove the two screws that se cure the pedesta l base to the monitor panel. Figure 3-13 Removing the Pedestal Base Screws 5. Tilt the top o f the pedestal base mount back (1) then sli de it up an d lift it off the LCD panel (2 ).
Mounting the Monitor NOTE: This apparatus is intended to b e supporte d b y UL or CSA Listed wall moun t bracket. 1. Remove the monitor p anel from the pedestal ba se. Refer to Removing the Monito r Pedestal Base on page 12 in the previous sectio n. 2.
Locating the Rating Labels The rating labels on the monitor pro vide the spare part number, produ ct number, and serial number . You may need th ese numbers when contac ting HP a bou t the monitor model. The rating l abels are located on the re ar panel of the monitor disp lay head.
4 Operating the Monitor Software and Utilities The CD that comes with the monitor co ntains files you can install o n the computer: ● an .INF (Information) file ● an .
Installing the .INF and .ICM Files After you determi ne that you need to update, you ca n instal l the .INF and .ICM files from th e CD or download them. Installing from the CD To install the .INF and .ICM files on the computer from th e CD: 1. Insert the CD in the computer CD-ROM drive.
NOTE: When the touc h function is activ e, make sure there are n o foreign objects blocking the left, right, or bottom edge s of the monitor LCD p anel. The touch function may replace the mouse after you start the Windows operating system and introduce approp riate gesture judgement.
Using the Auto-Adjustment Function You can optimize the screen pe rformance for the VGA (an alog) input by using the Auto/OK button on the monitor and the auto-adjustment pattern software utility on the CD provided. Do not use this procedure if the monitor is using a DVI or HDMI input.

Adjusting the Monitor Settings The monitor setti ngs can be adjusted from the O n-Screen Display (OSD) menu. NOTE: If there is a problem with the disp lay settings, try resetting the settings to the factory defaults by opening the OSD and selecting Factory Reset from the OSD menu .
OSD Menu Selections The following table l ists the On-Screen Display (O SD) menu selections an d their functional descriptions. After changing an OSD menu item, an d if the menu screen has the se options, you m ay choose to: ● Cancel —to retu rn to the prev ious menu level.

Identifying Monitor Conditions Special messages will appear on the monitor scr een when identif ying the following monitor conditions: ● Monitor Stat us —When the monitor is po wered on or wh en the inpu t source signal is changed, a Monitor Status message is displayed for five se conds.
Sleep Timer Mode The Sleep Timer mo de is an energy-saving featu re that enables you to set a time for the mo nitor to power on and off at the same time every day.
sRGB Support The monitor is de signed to support sRG B for colo r manageme nt, which adapts to the color standard s used in the image technology industr y. To take advantage of the sRGB supp ort, you will need to change the monitor’s color temperature to Standard and install the sRGB color profile (ICM) file.
