Advance ca libr ation val ues The pri nter stor es the adva nce cali brati on values of the last two differen t type s of pa per us ed for the ca libr ation. When you p rint, the printe r tries to match th e paper you hav e selec ted to the stored values.
St epped lines When you lo ok at the im age you ha ve print ed there are ‘step ped lin es’ in the bo rders of ar rows an d diagona l lines. The lines shou ld be stra ight wi th no step ping. The fol lowing is an example of what you mig ht see if yo u have prob lems wit h stepped l ines.

Paper jams can have variou s causes: • The p aper is too thic k or too th in for th e print er , or is ot herwi se not suppor ted. • The p aper is cr eased, mi saligned , or bubbl ed.

If neces sary , careful ly move the pr inthe ad carri age out of the way— if possib le all th e way to th e enclo sed area on the lef t or the right . Whic h way you are abl e to move it depends on where the paper is jammed.

Error Select Replace Printheads The printer has detected that one or more of the printheads is missing or has an error , as indicated by flashing crosses. The four icons refer from left to right to the Cyan ( • ), Blac k ( • ), Magent a ( • ) and Y ellow ( • ) printheads.
Ink cartridge replacement required The printer has detected that one or more of the ink cartridges is missing or has an error , as indicated by flashing crosses. The four icons refer from left to right to the Cyan ( • ), Blac k ( • ), Magent a ( • ) and Y ellow ( • ) cartridges.
Open window and check printhead cover is properly closed Y ou have replaced one or more printheads and the printer ’s check has found that the printhead cover is not securely closed. Open the window and check the printhead cover . The pr ocedure is described in the Printhead replacement procedure.
