not exceed the rating of the cord. Look on the power label to determine the ampere rating (AMPS or A) for each device. ● Install the monitor near an o utlet that you can eas ily re ach. Disconnect the monitor by grasping the plug firmly and pulling it from the outlet.
3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, en sure that the power is turned off to the mon itor, computer system, and other attached devices, then foll ow the instructions below. The monitor features two sets of VESA 100mm mounti ng holes. Use the top mounting holes to allow the display head to be lowered 1 8.05 mm closer to the table su rface, when used in landscape mode.
The monitor wil l automatically determi ne which inpu ts have valid video signals. The in puts can be selected through the On-Screen Di splay (OSD) feature by pressing the In put Select button on the front panel.
2. Connect one end of th e USB hub cable to the U SB connector on the re ar panel of the comp uter or to a USB hub, and the other en d to the upstream USB con nector on the mo nitor.
3. Connect one end of th e power cable to the AC p ower connector on the ba ck of the monitor, a nd the other end to an electrica l wall outlet. Figure 3-6 Conn ecting the Power Cable 4. Place the cables through the cable manag ement c hanne l on the back o f the moni tor and on the pedestal base.
Adjusting the Monitor 1. Tilt the monitor's panel forward or backward to set it to a com fortable eye level. Figure 3-8 Tilting the Monitor 2. Swivel the monitor to the left or righ t for the b est viewing angle.
3. Adjust the monitor's height so that it is parallel to your eye height for a comfortable viewing position. WARNING ! A lock-down/release bu tton on the front of the co lumn prevents the displa y head from sliding up w hen the mon itor is li fted.
4. Pivot the monitor from landscape to portrait orientation vie wing to adapt to your application. Figure 3-11 Pivoting the Monitor NOTE: The monitor pivots from landscape clockwise to portrait orientati on.
Connecting USB Devices The monitor provides two USB connectors on the rear pane l to connect devices such as a digital cam era, USB keyboard, or USB mouse. NOTE: You must connect the USB hub cab le from the monitor to the compu ter or to a USB hub to enable the USB 2.
Mounting Solutions Removing the Moni tor Pedestal Base You can remove the monitor pa nel from the pede stal base to mount the panel o n a wall, a swing arm, or other mountin g fixture. CAUTION: Before beginning to disassem ble the moni tor, be sure the monitor is turne d off and the power and signal cables are both disconne cted.
2. To mount the monito r to a swing arm, wall or ot her mounting fixture u sing the HP Quick Release, follow the instructions provid ed in the documentation that comes with Quick Release.
3. If mounting t he monitor using an other manufacturer’s so lution, use the scr ews previously removed from th e monitor base to mo unt the d isplay to a swing a rm or other mounting fixtu re. Consult th e documentation included with the mou nting fixture for additional instruction s.
Mounting to the Pedestal Base An optional HP Quick Release ca n be attached to th e pedestal base. It allows you to quickly and securely attach some models of the HP th in client to the monitor.
4 Operating the Monitor Software and Utilities The CD that come s with the moni tor contai ns files you can in stall on the computer: ● an .INF (Information) file ● an .
Installing the .INF and .ICM Files After you determi ne that you nee d to update, you can install the .INF and .ICM files from the CD or download the m. Installing from the CD To install the .INF and .ICM files on the computer from the CD: 1. Insert the CD i n the computer CD-ROM d rive.
To use the auto-adjustme nt feature: 1. Allow the monitor to warm up for 20 minutes befor e adjusting. 2. Press the − /Auto button on the monitor front panel. ● You can also press the Menu/Select button, then select Au to-Adju stment from the OSD Mai n Menu.
Front Panel Controls Table 4-1 Monitor Front Pane l Controls Control Funct ion 1 Menu/Select Opens, selects or exits the OSD menu. 2 − (Minus)/Auto ● Navigates backward through the OSD menu and decreases adjustment levels. ● When the OSD menu is inactive, activates the auto adjustment feature to optimize the screen image.
Adjusting the Monitor Settings The monitor settings can be adjuste d from the On-Screen Display (O SD) menu or from th e HP Display Assistant utility. Using the On-Screen Display Menu Use the On-Screen Display (O SD) to adjust the screen image based on yo ur viewing preference s.

Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Mode Display Displays the resolution , refresh rate and frequency information on the screen each time the OSD Main Menu is accessed. Select: ● On ● Off The factory default is Off. Power-On Status Display Displays the opera ting status of the monitor each time the monitor is powered on.
Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Recommended Settings Provides the recommended resolution mode and refresh rate for the monitor. Serial Number Reports the serial number of the monitor. T he serial number is needed if contacting HP technical support.
Optimizing Digital Conversion This monito r contains advance d circ uitry that allows the flat panel screen to function l ike a standard monitor. Two controls in the on-screen display c an be adjusted to imp rove image performa nce: Clock and Clock Phase.
Identifying Monitor Conditions Special messages will appear on th e monitor screen when identifying the following monitor conditions: ● Input Signal Out o f Range - Chan ge resolution se tting to 16.
NOTE: You must set the current local time bef ore you r eset the t ime for Sleep Time or On Time . Note that the time is displayed in a 24–hour clock format. For example, 1:15 p.m. is displayed as 13 hours 15 minutes. 5. Press the Menu button o nce to enter th e adjustment mo de for hours.
Select This Option To Do This Display On Sets the time when the monitor automatically turns on. This does not affect screen saver operatio n, which has priority over the HP Display LiteSaver . Activity Extension Sets the time in minutes before the monitor turns off if there is any keyboard or m ouse activity after the Display Off time is reac hed.
1. Click the Display icon in the Control Panel. 2. In the Display Properties windows, select the Settings tab, then click the Adva nced button. 3. Select the Color Mana gement tab, then click the Add button to open the Add Profile Associa tion dia log box.
