GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 10 – English be check ed. See instructions under the heading Maintenance. Stop switc h Use the stop switch to s witch off the engine. Star t the engine and mak e sure the engine stops when you mov e the stop switch to the stop setting.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 11 cutter . Cer tain harnesses also have a quic k release fitted to the suppor t hook. Check that the harness straps are correctly positioned. Once the harness and machine have been adjusted, check that the harness quick release works correctly .
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 12 – English should operate the sock et spanner when loosening or tightening the nut. The nylon lining inside the locking n ut must not be so worn that you can turn it by hand. The lining should offer a resistance of at least 1.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 13 incorrectly sharpened or damaged blade increases the risk of accidents. K eep the correct setting on the saw blade! F ollow our instructions and use the recommended setting tool. An incorrectly set saw b lade increases the r isk of jamming and blade thrust, and damage to the saw b lade.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 14 – English T rimmer head • Only use the recommended trimmer heads and trimmer cords. These have been tested b y the manuf acturer to suit a par ticular engine size. This is especially impor tant when a fully automatic trimmer head is used.
ASSEMBL Y English – 15 Assembling the handlebar and throttle CA UTION! Some models have the throttle handle fitted at the factory . • Remov e the screw at the rear of the throttle handle. • Slide the throttle handle onto the right side of the handlebar , (see diagram).
ASSEMBL Y 16 – English Fitting the blade guar d/ combination guard, grass b lade and ball-bearing-mounted support cup • Hang the trimmer guard/combination guard (A) on the two hooks on the plate holder (M). Bend the guard around the shaft and tighten it with the bolt (L) on the opposite side of the shaft.
ASSEMBL Y English – 17 • Then fasten the b lade guard (A) with 4 bolts (L) in the holder (N). • Fit the drive disc (B) on the output shaft. • T urn the blade shaft until one of the holes in the drive disc aligns with the corresponding hole in the gear housing.
ASSEMBL Y 18 – English • Screw on the trimmer head (H) in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation. • Tighten the trimmer head to a torque of 35-50 Nm (3.
ASSEMBL Y English – 19 3 Adjust the shoulder strap to distribute the load e venly across your shoulders. Press downwards on the suspension hook to load the harness. 4 Adjust the height of the suspension hook as described in the instructions for the standard harness.
ASSEMBL Y 20 – English 2 Tighten the hip strap so that it sits securely . 3 The hip belt should hang roughly in line with the hip bone. 4 Press the breast plate together . 5 Attach the side belt to the breast plate. 6 T o relieve pressure on the rib cage, it is possib le to connect the side belt with a belt to the hip pad.
FUEL HANDLING English – 21 Fuel safety Nev er star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilled fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate. 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes. W ash any par t of y our body that has come in contact with fuel.
FUEL HANDLING 22 – English Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING English – 23 Check bef ore star ting • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks hav e formed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING 24 – English Start throttle: (345 FR, 545 RX, 545 RXT) Set the throttle to the star t position by first pressing the throttle lock out and the throttle tr igger , then pressing the star t throttle button (A). Then release the throttle lockout and the throttle trigger, f ollowed b y the star t throttle button.

W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 26 – English W orking methods • Before y ou star t clear ing, check the clearing area, the type of terrain, the slope of the ground, whether there are stones, hollows etc. • Star t at whichev er end of the area is easiest, and clear an open space from which to work.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 27 • T o fell to the left, the bottom of the tree should be pushed to the right. Tilt the b lade and br ing it diagonally down to the right, ex er ting fir m pressure. At the same time push the stem using the blade guard.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 28 – English Grass clearing using a grass b lade • Grass blades and g rass knifes must not be used on woody stems. • A grass b lade is used for all types of tall or coarse grass.
MAINTENANCE English – 29 Carburetor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
MAINTENANCE 30 – English Proceed as f ollows: 1 Run the machine at idle. 2 Press the star t throttle lock as described under the heading Star ting and stopping. 3 If the star t throttle speed is too low (below 4000 rpm), turn the adjuster screw A clockwise until the cutting attachment star ts to rotate.
MAINTENANCE English – 31 Cleaning the air filter Remo v e the air filter cover and take out the filter . Wash it clean in warm, soapy water . Be vel gear The bev el gear is filled with the right quantity of grease at the factory .
MAINTENANCE 32 – English • Hot air is then supplied to the carburettor from the muffler . • Fit a cov er over the starter in snowy conditions. IMPORT ANT! The machine MUST be returned to its standard design at temperatures warmer than 5 ° C (41 ° F).
