8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Alw a ys use the recommended guard for the cutting attachment you are using. See chapter on T echnical data. Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to minimize vibration and mak e operation easier .
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Regularly check that the muffler is securely attached to the machine. If the muffler on y our machine is fitted with a spar k arrestor mesh this must be cleaned regularly . A b locked mesh will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage.
10 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS K eep the teeth of the blade correctly sharpened! Follo w our instructions and use the recommended file gauge. An incorrectly shar pened or damaged blade increases the risk of accidents. Check the cutting attachment f or damage or crac ks.
English – 11 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the main bod y Connect the engine (A) to the tube (B) with f our screws (C). Fitting the handlebar • Fit the handlebar in the handlebar clamp on the shaft using six screws . • Attach the cabling to the shaft with tw o cabling holders.

Assembling the cutting equipment Fitting the cor d cutter and guard e xtension to the trimmer guard • Attach the cord cutter to the guard e xtension with screw and washer as sho wn.
English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Fitting other guar ds and cutting attachments • Fit the guard (A) to the gear housing using the suppor t plate (M) and two scre ws (L). • Fit the drive disc (B) on the output shaft. • T ur n the blade shaft until one of the holes in the drive disc aligns with the corresponding hole in the gear housing.
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allo w remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
English – 15 FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
16 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks ha ve f ormed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole .
English – 17 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING W arm engine Use the same star ting procedure as for a cold engine b ut without setting the choke control in the chok e position. Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!).

English – 19 W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Grass c learing using a grass blade • Grass b lades and grass cutters must not be used on woody stems. • A grass b lade is used for all types of tall or coarse g rass.
20 – English W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Sweeping • The f an effect of the rotating cord can be used f or quick and easy clearing up. Hold the cord parallel to and abov e the area to be s wept and mov e the tool to and fro . • When cutting and s weeping you should use full throttle to obtain the best results.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Adjusting the idle speed (T) Check that the air filter is clean. When the idle speed is correct, the cutting attachment should not rotate. If adjustment is required, close (turn clockwise) the idle adjustment screw T , with the engine running, until the cutting attachment star ts to rotate.
22 – English MAINTENANCE • Excessive fuel consumption. Clean the filter e very 25 hours, or more regularly if conditions are e xceptionally dusty . Cleaning the air filter Remov e the air filter cov er and take out the filter . W ash it clean in warm, soapy w ater .
