2 Intr oduction Thank you for purc hasing the JVC Micro Component System. W e hope it will be a valued addition to your home, giving you year s of enjoyment. Be sure to read this instruction manual carefully before operating your new stereo system. In it you will fi nd all the information you need to set up and use the system.
3 Others • Should any metallic object or liquid fall into the System, unplug the AC power cord and consult your dealer before operating any further .
4 Getting Star ted Step 1: Unpac k the pac kage and chec k the accessories. Step 2: Prepare the remote control. Step 3: Hook up the components such as AM/FM antennas, speaker s, etc. (see pages 5 to 7). Finally plug the AC power cord. Now you can operate the System.
5 Step 3 Hook Up If you need more detailed information, see page 7 . Illustrations of the input/output terminals below are typical examples. When you connect other components, refer also to their manuals since the terminal names actually printed on the rear may vary .

15 Resume Play for MP3/WMA If you press 7 while playing MP3/WMA, the number of the track where you have stopped playback will be memorized by the unit. By pressing CD 6 or USB MEMORY 6 , you can start playback again from the beginning of the same track.
16 Playing Back from Other Equipment T o connect other equipment By using a stereo mini plug cord (not supplied), you can connect other equipment with analog audio output jac ks, such as Digital Audio Player , a TV , etc.
17 Adjusting the V olume Y ou can adjust the volume level from level 0 (V OLUME-MIN) to level 30 (V OLUME-MAX). T o drop the volume in a moment Remote ONLY T o rest or e the volume, press again, or adjust the v olume level.
18 T o adjust the treble Changing the Display Brightness — DIMMER Remote ONLY Y ou can dim the display window. Setting the Clock Remote ONLY Without setting the built-in cloc k, you cannot use the Daily T imer and sleep Timer (see page 23). • T o exit from the cloc k setting, press CL OCK/ TIMER as required.
19 T urning Off the Power Automatically Remote ONLY T o turn off the System after playback is over — Auto Standby This function works only when the source is CD. When Auto Standby is in use, the A.S T ANDBY indicator lights on the display . When the disc playbac k stops, the A.
20 Programming the Playing Order — Pro- gram Play Remote ONLY Y ou can arrange the playing order of the trac ks (up to 32) before you start playbac k. • Y ou can repeat all the programmed tracks by pressing REPEA T . 1 Before starting playback, press PRO- GRAM.

22 Playing Repeatedly — Repeat Play Remote ONLY Y ou can repeat playback. CD MP3/WMA (T rack mode) Repeats the cur rent trac k. MP3/WMA (Group mode) Repeats all the trac ks in the current group (for MP3/WMA playbac k mode in “ GROUP ” only). ALL CD MP3/WMA Repeats all the trac ks.
23 Setting the Timer Remote ONLY Using Daily T imer , you can wake up with music, etc. • T o exit from the timer setting, press CL OCK/ TIMER repeatedly until the current status (normal operation) is displayed. • T o correct a misentry during the process, press CANCEL.
24 4 S et the volume. • “ SET OK ” appears on the display fol- lowed by the timer settings you have entered. 3 T urn off the System (on standby) if you have set the timer with the System turned on. ST ANDBY/ON Display is turned off . The ST ANDBY lamp blinks slowly until the setting time comes.
25 Learning More about This System Daily Operations—Playback (see pages 9 to 16) Listening t o the Radio: • If you store a new station into an occupied preset number , the previously stored station in that number will be erased. • When you unplug the AC power cord or if a power failure occurs, the preset stations will be erased in a few days.
26 T o remove the speaker grilles T roubleshooting If you are having a problem with your System, c heck this list for a possible solution before calling for service. General: Adjustments or set tings are suddenly canceled befor e you fi nish. @ There is a time limit.
27 Maintenance T o get the best performance of the System, keep your discs, and mec hanism clean. Handling discs • When removing the disc from its case, hold it at the edge while pressing the center hole lightly . • Do not touc h the shiny surface of the disc, or bend the disc.
