10 Clock This is a sta ndar d 12-hou r clock (12: 00 AM -11:59 P M). Wh en power i s first su pplied t o the oven , or aft er a powe r fail ur e, the “W elcome” scr een will appear , askin g whether y ou would li ke to set the clock. If you choose to set the clock at that time, the displa y will take you directly to th e Clock screen.

12 Ti m e r The Timer can be set in minute s and second s, up to 99 minutes, and counts d own the s et time. NOTE : The Timer does not start or stop the oven. While the Timer is in use, the oven ca n still opera te. During an oven operation, th e Timer countdown w ill be minimized.

14 OVEN U SE A magnetron in the ov en produces microwaves which reflect off the metal floor , walls and ceili ng and pass through th e turn tabl e and appropriate cookware to the food. Mi crowaves are attracted to and absorb ed by fat, sugar and water molecule s in the food, causing them to move , producing friction an d heat which cooks the food.
15 Cookware and Din nerware Cookware and dinnerware must fi t on the tur nt able. Al ways use oven mitts or pot holders when handli ng because any dish may become hot from heat transf erred from the food. Do not use cookwar e and d innerwar e with gold or sil ver trim.
16 MANUAL COOKING Add a Mi nute The ADD A MINUTE control auto matically s tarts the oven at 100% po wer fo r 1 minute, and ad ds 1 minute of cook t ime, up to 10 minutes, with each addi tional touch of the control.
17 Keep W arm Hot cooked food can be ke pt warm in the oven. Keep Warm can be used by itself, or i t can be pr ogrammed to follow a cooking cycle. See “Cookin g in Stage s” section. ■ Cover plates of food. ■ Cover foods that were cover ed while being cooked.
18 PROGRAMM ED COOKING Sensor Cooking Some automatic cy cles are sensor cycles . See “Cook Method Chart.” No amount s need to be en tered. A se nsor in the ove n detects h umidit y released from the food as it heats , and adjus ts the cook time accordingly .

20 Browni ng Pan The Br owning Pan menu has 7 main f ood categori es, plu s a shortcut to Manual Br owning Pan (see “Manual Method Cooking” section ). The Browning Pan fun ction uses th e speciall y design ed browning pan (provid ed with oven) t o brown, cris p, and pa n-fry foods in the microwave oven.
