5 Chapter 1 Introduction Thank you for purchasing the LevelOne Smart USB S torage. The product is a powerful USB 2.0 2.5” hard disk enclosure with two USB 2.0 ports Hub. It allows you to back up dat a, manage backup schedules and set up a private disk to protect your personal information.
6 In the application, choose the application’ s user manual from the Help m enu. This onscreen help contains the det ailed informa tion about how to adjust the SmartU SB utility options and other settings, such as back up your data on schedule, prot ect your private files and folders, and more.
7 Chapter 2 Product Overview 2.1 Package Content s MUS-2500 Smart USB S torage comes with some accessories. V erify that nothing is missing from the MUS-2500 Smart USB S torage package by using the checking list below . Please contact your dealer if anything is missing or damaged.

11 Chapter 3 Hardware Setup 1. Press the panel cover up at mark and pull the bottom case off. 2. Insert the HD into the IDE slot. You must ca refully align and plug the pins of the hard drive’s IDE connector into the sockets of the contro ller board’s IDE adapter in the base case of the enclosure.
12 Chapter 4 Using the Enclosure 4.1 Connecting the enclosure Follow these steps to connect your MUS-2500 Smart USB S torage to computer: 1. Place your 2.5” hard drive into the enclo sure. For more information on setting up the enclosure, see Chapter 3, “Hardware Setup”.

18 Chapter 5 Backup 5.1 How to back up 5.1.1 Create a new backup job 1. Click Backup button in the SmartUSB wizard screen. The Backup Job List window will open.

39 Chapter 6 Secured Private Disk 6.1 Create your private disk 1. Click Secured Private Disk button in the SmartUSB wizard screen. 2. The Create New Secured Private Disk window appears requiring you to configure the following setting. - In the Drive Letter field: select a disk drive you desire.
40 3. Click Create to set up a private disk. 4. The Format Dialog appears and asks you to format the hard disk. 5. Click Star t to begin the format application. 6. Click Close to end. 7. Secured Private Disk with Login button will change to Secured Private Disk w ith Logout button.
