When you start up, a disk icon with a blinking question mark appears in the middle of the screen. This ic on indic ate s that y our Macint osh c annot find the s y stem so ft w are it needs to start up .
When you try to start up from a floppy disk, a disk icon with an X appears in the middle of the screen and the floppy disk is ejected. This ic on indic ate s that the fl opp y dis k y ou tried t o star t up from is not a star tup dis k. W ait a fe w seconds .
