8 Installation Ins tructions Installation of the Magellan RoadMate receiver is simp le and easy . The hardest pa rt will be picking the best location. Selecting the Location A few tips on selecting the proper locatio n. • Mount the Magellan RoadMate receiver in a place where it can be easily seen and will not interfere with your view of the road.
9 Att aching the Magellan RoadMate receiver to the Car Cradle Slide the Magellan RoadM ate receiver on th e ca r cradle so that the slot on the Magellan RoadMate receiver aligns with the tab on the car cradle. Slide the Magellan RoadMate receiver all the way down until it rests o n the 'feet'.
10 Map Screen The most commonly used screen is the Map screen. Whether you are following a route o r just travelin g around a city , the chances are that the Map screen will be displayed. The Map screen can be displayed in two unique modes: normal and routing .

18 OneT ouch Menu In addition to Home Address, there are othe r icons in the OneTouch Menu. There are pr edefined b ookmarks a s well as user assignable bookmark s for searches and favori te destinations. They can be used for easy access of frequent dest inations an d to get loca l information when needed .
19 Setting a Route to a OneTo uch Icon With the OneTouch menu set up you can no w go to a saved address or search. 1. Tap the button in the top righ t corner of the Ma p screen. 2. Tap one of the assigned On eTouch buttons. 3. If the assigned button is for a search, the list of POIs is displaye d.
20 Points of Inter est (POI) The Magellan RoadMate r eceiver has preloaded POIs that can be use d as a destina tion for a route. Selecting a restaurant or finding a gas statio n nearby is at your fingertips. Creating a Route to a POI by Cat egory POIs are categorized into unique categories from gas statio ns to tourist attractions.
21 Cr eating a Route to a POI by Name 1. From the Main Menu , tap the Points of Interest icon. 2. Tap the Search By Name button. 3. Spell the name of the POI to be used as the destination. You don’t need to en ter the full name, but the more characters you enter , the easier it will be to find the ex ac t POI you are searching for .
22 Home Addr es s Your most frequent destin ation can be entered and sa ve d in the Magel lan RoadMate as the Home Address for quick and easy access when you ne ed to navigate there. This does no t need to be your real home address. Choose any address you visit frequently .
23 T raveling on a Route Map Scr een When a route has been calculated, it will be displayed on the Map screen in green with small arrows indicating the direction of travel. The top of the screen displays th e na me of the street that comes next in your Turn List toge ther with it s distance.
