26 C HAPTER 2: I NSTALLING THE S WITCH Choosing a Suitable Site The Switch is suited for use in an office envir onment where it can be mounted in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, or fr ee standing. Alter natively , the Switch can be rack-moun ted in a wiring closet or equipment room.
Rack-mount ing 27 Rack-mounting The Switch is 1U hi gh and fits in most sta ndar d 19-inc h racks. CAUTION: Disconnect all c ables from the Switch befor e continuing. Remove all self adhesive pads from the underside of the Switch if they have been fitted.
