With the help of the following notes minor faults in the perfor mance of the appli - ance, some of which may result fr om incorrect operation, can be put right without contacting the Service Department.
The programme does not start. What to do if ... P ossible cause Remedy The Anti-crease / Fin - ish indicator light is not on. There is no power . Check that – the door is properly closed. – the mains plug is plugged in. – the fuse or circuit br eaker has not tripped.
The wash programme stops and a fault indicator light comes on. What to do if ... P ossible cause Remedy The buzzer sounds and the Check drain light is flashing. The water outlet is blocked. Clean the fluff (drain) filter and drain pump. The drain hose has been fixed too high.
A fault indicator light comes on but the wash pr ogramme continues as normal. What to do if ... P ossible cause Remedy The Check drain light flashes. The drain outlet is re - stricted. Clean the fluff (drain) filter and drain pump. The Check inlet light flashes.
General prob lems or an unsatisfactory wash result What to do i f... P ossible cause Remedy The machine shakes during the spin cyc le. The four feet are not resting evenly on the floor . Level the machine. See advice on installation. The laundry has not been spun satisfacto - rily .
What to do if ... P ossible cause Remed y The pump makes strange noises. These do not indicate a fault. They occur at the end of a pump sequence as a normal par t of the operation. Large residues of de - tergent remain in the dispenser drawer . The water supply pres - sure is too low .
What to do i f... P ossible cause Remedy Grey , greasy par ti - cles c ling to washed laundry . Insufficient amounts of detergent were used to break down the particles of grease in heavily soiled laundry . – Add more detergent. – Before washing the next load run a COTTONS 95°C programme with powder de - tergent but without a load.
Opening the drum door in the event of a po wer failure If the drain outlet is clogged, more wa - ter will be retained in the machine (up to 25 litres) . Caution: If laundry has been washed at a high temperature, water drain - ing out of the machine will still be hot.
Always make sure the drum is sta - tionary before reaching in to the ma - chine to remove washing. Reaching into a moving drum is extremely dangerous. Door hinged right ^ Pull the emergency door latch down- wards (see illustration). The machine door will then open.
Customer contact In the event of any faults which you cannot remedy yourself please contact – Y our Miele Dealer or – Y our nearest Miele Service depart - ment (see back cover for the address). When contacting the Service Depart - ment, please quote the Model and Se - rial Nos.
Installation surface A concrete floor is the most suitable in - stallation surface for a washing ma - chine, being far less prone to vibration during the spin cycle than wooden floorboards or a surface with "soft" properties. Please note the following points: ^ The machine must be level and se - curely positioned.
2 . T urn the right-hand transit bar 90°. 3 . Withdraw the two bars together with the support plate. 4 . Plug the two holes with the plastic caps supplied. , The washing machine must not be moved without the transit bars in place. Store the transit bars as shown or keep them in a safe place for future use.
Levelling the mac hine The machine must stand perfectly level on all four feet to ensure safe and proper operation. Incorrect installation may incr ease elec- tricity and water consumption and may cause the machine to move about. The four adjustable screw feet ar e used to level the machine.
Building under This washing machine is specially de - signed for installation under a continu - ous worktop. This machine is fitted with a protective coverplate which replaces the machine lid. , For reasons of electrical safety this coverplate is necessary , and must not be removed.
Adjusting the facia height The adapter can be adjusted to match the machine facia to the height of an adjacent drawer by: – altering the position of the nuts or – by removing one or mor e of the strips. Adapter strip adjustment range: – max. 10 mm upwards (see arr ows il - lustrated), – max.
Drilling template ^ Place the template on the lower edge of the rear of the door panel. There ar e four short parallel marks in all four corners of the template.
Example 2: ^ Drill the numbered holes and the screw points for the inner door panel to the specified depth. On chipboard fr onts: inject silicone sealant (supplied) into the (= Ø 10 mm) free holes. Note that some differ ent holes are r e - quired for left or right hand hingeing.
Aligning the door The door must align so that it is flush with the control panel. If the door is not flush with the control panel it will not shut properly . Example of a flush door: Example of a door which is not flush : T o align the door add or remove the spacers located underneath the door latch.
Fitting a plinth facing The appliance plinth below the door can be partially concealed using a plinth facing. The height and return of the appliance plinth cannot be altered. A taller plinth facing can only be in - stalled if the overall niche height is higher .
Connection to water supply Fitting The machine should be connected to a mains water supply in accordance with standard r egulations. In Germany the washing machine is not requir ed to have a non-return valve as it has been designed to comply with the relevant German DIN standard.
The connection point is subject to mains water pressur e. T ur n on the stopcock slowly and check for leaks. Correct the position of the washer and union if appropriate. The "W aterproof system" is NO T suit - able for connection to a hot water supply .
Important! The plastic casing of the water connec - tion contains an electric component. Do not dip into any liquid! The "W aterproof system" must only be connected to its own stopcock.
Connection to the drainage system The machine drains via a drain pump with a delivery head of 1 metre. The drain hose is 1.5 m long. It must not be kinked as this restricts drainage. The swivel elbow at the end of the hose can be turned in either direction, or can be detached if requir ed, with a sharp twist and pull.
Electrical connection U .K. All electrical work should be carried out only by a suitably qualified and compe - tent person, in strict accordance with national and local safety regulations. The appliance is supplied with a mains cable with moulded plug for connection to a 230-240V mains supply .
Electrical connection U .K. Non-rewireab le plugs BS 1363 If this machine is fitted with a non- rewir eable plug, the following informa - tion applies: If the socket outlets are not suitable for the plug supplied with the product, it must be cut off and an appr opriate plug fitted.
