Upgrading 7/12 APRICOT 340 OWNER’S HANDBOOK Upgrading the processor The ZIF (zero insert ion force) processor socket on t he moth erboard is designed to accept a variety of Intel Pentium processors wit h processor speeds from 75 to 166 megahertz (MHz).

A range of removable-media drives are available for this bay. Configuring the drive Drives purchased from an aut horized supplier should arrive pre- configured and ready for installat ion.

Open the drive bay door. The drive bay apert ure is initially obscured by a blanking plate attached t o the t op of th e metalwork.

Some drives may be supplied wit h additional screws or cables (some of which may not be required). 7. Place th e drive, upside down, on a suitable ant i-static surface, then place the drive tray over the drive.

If one hard disk is already fit ted, unplug it s power and signal cables from the rear of the drive. 8. The h ard disk drive bay is secured by two screws and h eld by two lugs in t he base of th e system unit.

Upgrading 7/24 APRICOT 340 OWNER’S HANDBOOK The bay is correct ly positioned when t he diskette drive EJECT button protrudes t hrough t he front bezel and th e two screw holes in the bay line up with th ose in the base of t he system unit. 14. Replace the hard disk drive bay’s two securing screws.
