Pop open th e protec tive cap on the end o f the oil drain 3. valve to exp ose the drain p or t. See Fig 6 - 1. Remove the oil f ill cap/dipstick from th e oil fill tub e. 4. Push the oil drain h ose (packed wi th this manual) onto the 5. oil drain p ort .
Atta ch the hose couple r to the water por t on your de ck’s 4. sur face. See Fig. 6 -2. T urn th e water on. 5. While sit ting in the o perator ’ s positio n on the trac tor , star t 6. the engin e and place the throt tle lever in the FAST (rabbit) position .
Deck Spindle Grease f it tings can be f ound on each de ck spindle. Se e Fig. 6 -4. Lubricate wi th 25 1 H EP grease or a n equivale nt No. 2 multi- purp ose lithium grease. Using a greas e gun, apply t wo strokes (minimum ) or suf f icient grease to the spi ndle shaf t.
Lev eling the Deck ( Side to S ide ) If the cut ting de ck appear s to be mowing unevenl y , a side to sid e adjustm ent can be pe rfo rmed. Adjus t if necessa ry as fo llows: With the t ractor p arked on a f irm, level sur face, pla ce the 1.
Cutting Deck Remo val Place the PTO/Blade Enga ge lever in the diseng aged (OFF) 1 . positio n and engage th e parkin g brake. Lower the de ck by moving the de ck lift l ever into the 2. bot tom notch on the ri ght fender. Locate the e ngine pulley un der the front of you r tractor.
Pull the deck sup por t pin out ward to release t he deck fro m 6. the de ck lift a rm. See Fig. 7-3. Rep eat the above steps on th e tractor ’s right side. 7 . Move the de ck lift l ever into the top notch to raise the de ck 8 . lif t arms up and ou t of the way .
It may also be ne cessar y to loosen th e hex nut on th e lef t 3. idler p ulley to get the be lt of f the pulley and aro und the belt gu ard. Caref ully remove the de ck belt fro m around the t wo 4. spindle p ulleys and the t wo deck idl er pulleys.
Place a block of wo od bet ween th e center deck housing 2. baf f le and the cut ting bla de to act as a s tabilizer. See Fig. 7-9. Remove the he x fl ange nut that secu res the blade to the 3. spindle ass embly. See Fig. 7 -9. T o pro perly shar pen the cut ting bla des, remove equal 4.
