4 5. Never run an engine indoors or in a poorly ventilated area. Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an odorless and deadly gas. 6. Do not ope rate machine while u nder the infl uence of alcohol or drugs. 7. Muffler and engine become hot an d can cause a burn.
5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWER Loose P arts The augers are secured to t he auger shaft with two shear bolts and hex lock nuts . If you hit a foreign object or ice jam, the sn ow thrower is designed so tha t the bolts may shear. Two replaceme nt shear bolts and nuts are provided for you r convenience.
6 IMPORT ANT : The cable should have very little slack, but should NOT be tight. An overt ightened cable may prohibit the auger and drive from disengaging. WARNING: Over-t ightenin g the cabl e may prohibit th e auger and drive fro m disengaging and compromise the safety of the snow thrower.
7 Figure 7 Heated Handles Switch The heated handles s witch is located on the right side of the snow thrower hand le panel. To activate the heated handles, toggle the switch to the right to generate heat within the handles. Toggle the heated handles switch to the left into the OFF pos ition after using the snow thro wer.
8 SECTION 4: OPERATING YOUR SNOW THROWER Before Starting WARNING: Read, under stand, and follow all instructions and wa rnings on the machine and in this manual befor e operating. • The spark plug wire was disconnected for safety. Attach spark plug wire to spark plug before star ting.
9 • Push prim er button two or thre e times for cold engine start, ma king sure to cover vent hole in primer button when pushing. DO NOT use primer to restart a warm engin e after a short shutdown. • Push starter bu tton to start engine. • When engine st arts, release start er button and move choke gr adually to OFF.
10 Figure 9 • Repeat Auger Control Test to verify proper adjustment has been achieved. Chute Clean-Out T ool The chute clean-out tool is co nveniently fa stened to the rear of the auge r housing with a moun ting clip (Refer to Figure 7).
11 SECTION 5: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: NEVER at tempt to make an y adjustments while the engine is running, except where sp ecified in the operator’s manual. Tire Pre ss u re ( P ne um a ti c Ti res ) • The tires are over -inflated for shipping purposes.
12 Shift Rod To adjust the shift r od, proceed as follows. • Remove the hairpin clip and slide the shift rod connector up , to separate the upper shift rod from the lower shift rod. See Figure 13. • Place the shift lever in to the sixth (6) posit ion.
13 Both Wheels Drivi ng: Inser t the clic k pin through the hole in t he hub of the rim and th e inside hole on the snow thrower’ s r ight axle. This positio n is good f o r he avy snow as there is power drive in both wheels.
14 Traction Control / Auger Control Lock The cams on the ends of the control r ods which interlock the tract ion drive and auger drive controls must be lubricated at least once a season or every 25 hours of opera tion. The cams can be accessed beneath the handle panel.

16 Changing Friction Wheel Rubber The rubber on the fr iction wheel is subject to wear and should be checked after 25 hours of operation, and periodically therea fter.
17 NOTE: Fuel stabilizer is an a cceptable alternative in minimizing t he formation of fuel gum de posits durin g storage. Do not drain carburetor if using fuel stabilizer. • Wipe equipment with an oiled rag to prevent rust. • Remove spark pl ug and pour one ounce of engi ne oil through spark plug hole int o cylinder.
